In Binh Phuoc , the basin of the Be River flowing to Can Don Lake, seen from an altitude of 7,000 meters, meanders like a majestic "three dragons converging" image, creating a special impression during the days before the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024.
"Three dragons converging" from rivers and lakes
For a long time, the image of the dragon has always been a sacred symbol in the Vietnamese people's consciousness. The dragon is not only a symbol of strength and authority, but in Vietnamese culture, the dragon is also a spiritual symbol associated with the emotions and soul of the nation, from the origin of "descendants of the dragon and fairies".
The image of Can Don Lake and Be River was taken by a foreigner and posted on social media in 2020.
In January 2020, a foreigner posted a photo with the caption "Vietnam's river system looks like a dragon, photo taken from an airplane" on a fairly popular group with tens of thousands of members.
The photo was quickly tracked down by the online community. Through satellite images, people found out that the location of the photo was Can Don Lake and the basin of Song Be River in Binh Phuoc province.
Inspired by the photo, Binh Phuoc province created rice and oil paintings to promote the local image.
