Apple heavily discounts products in Vietnam, not everyone can buy

Apple Vietnam has just launched the "Back to School" promotion program on the Apple Store online store for the 2024 back-to-school season. The program lasts from July 11 to September 30, applicable to students, teachers andeducation staff.

Accordingly, when buying a MacBook Air laptop (from M2 version), MacBook Pro (from M3 version) and iMac desktop (from M3 version) you will get AirPods 3 headphones with Lightning charging case; buying a Mac mini desktop (M2 or M2 Pro version) you will get AirPods 2 headphones; buying an iPad Air (M2 version) and iPad Pro (M4 version) you will get Apple Pencil Pro or Apple Pencil (USB-C).

Visit the Apple Vietnam website, Macbook Air M2 13 inch gives AirPods 3 for only 22.49 million VND. Similarly, iPad Pro 11 inch (M4) gives Apple Pencil Pro for only 26 million VND.

Apple Back to School Promotion

Compared to the selling price at phone retail chains, the above selling price is 4.5 million to nearly 6 million VND lower.

Although cheap, according to some users, ordering promotional products is quite difficult and not all students or educational staff can buy them.

Mr. Hoai Thanh, living in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, said that his son is going to grade 12 this year. When he heard about Apple's big promotion, he went to the website to order a Macbook Air M2, but in the end, he was disappointed because his school was not eligible for support.

"I thought it would be easy to buy, but unexpectedly it required multiple authentication steps. Meanwhile, I'm not familiar with technology and the shopping interface on Apple's website is quite difficult to buy. I had to spend an hour trying but in the end I couldn't buy it, which made me even more frustrated," said Mr. Thanh.

Similarly, Ms. Thanh Huong, also living in Ho Chi Minh City, said she was looking for a laptop for her daughter to use for her studies. Initially, she was very happy to hear that Apple was reducing the price of laptops, but when it came to placing an order, the company asked for information verification and asked for a personal email provided by the school.

"My daughter will be going to college in more than a month, and then I will receive an email or confirmation of becoming a student of the school. I cannot wait until then to buy, because my daughter has to learn English, Japanese and update her knowledge in her free time" - Ms. Huong shared.

Users cannot purchase because the field is not supported yet.

Request to provide personal email issued by school

According to the Apple Vietnam website, when eligible buyers select to purchase a Qualified Product by calling 1800-1192, via a separate email, Apple will request customers to provide a copy of their Student/Instructor/Staff ID card or official admission notice issued by a higher education institution in an eligible Country to ensure they are eligible for the savings offer.

Such information is used only to verify that the customer is an eligible purchaser for the savings offer.

Product shipment may be delayed if Apple does not receive proof of eligibility in a timely manner or if Apple needs additional time to verify that the customer qualifies for the savings offer...
