Delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the representative office of the Australia - Vietnam Policy Institute in Hanoi .
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Manh Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Bui The Duy, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology .
On the Australian and RMIT University side, there were: Ms. Sam Mostyn, Governor-General of Australia; Ms. Gillian Bird, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam; Ms. Peggy O'Neal AO, Chairwoman of RMIT University Council.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor-General of Australia Sam Mostyn congratulated RMIT University Hanoi and the organizations that contributed to the opening of AVPI in Hanoi. She emphasized that in just three years, AVPI has become a typical leading initiative in promoting bilateral relations, optimizing the strengths of the two countries. At the same time, building a network of more than 35 knowledge partners spanning across industries, Government, academic institutions, non-profit organizations and policy research centers in Australia and Vietnam - including the Academy of Vietnam and World Economics , the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Policy Studies.
According to the Governor-General, AVPI’s presence in Hanoi will play a central role in promoting policy dialogue, connecting businesses and strengthening capacity in key areas such as education, digital transformation, green energy and innovation. He also highly appreciated RMIT’s contribution to education - one of Vietnam’s top priorities and a key driving force in supporting Vietnam’s transformation towards a modern, high-income economy by 2045.
Ms. Sam Mostyn emphasized: "AVPI's program in Hanoi will open up new cooperation opportunities, deepening the Vietnam - Australia relationship, based on the foundation of respect, economic - political cooperation, trade, people-to-people exchange and especially education and training".

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy sent his congratulations and affirmed that the opening of AVPI in Hanoi is an important milestone, demonstrating the increasingly deep cooperation between Vietnam and Australia, especially in the fields of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. The Vietnamese Government considers this one of the strategic pillars to help the country make a breakthrough in the new era. In particular, developing a national innovation ecosystem, building synchronous institutions and legal infrastructure, developing connecting intermediaries, as well as encouraging the strong participation of domestic and foreign corporations and enterprises play a particularly important role.
Deputy Minister Bui The Duy highly appreciated the cooperation model that AVPI has implemented as an ecosystem, gathering hundreds of organizations and individuals in the field of policy research in Vietnam and Australia, contributing to the development of projects, products and solutions to support research and policy development in Vietnam, serving partners in Australia and Vietnam.
Deputy Minister Bui The Duy believes that AVPI in Hanoi will actively contribute to the Vietnam - Australia cooperation relationship, and at the same time help make Vietnam a leading destination for organizations in the field of research and global policy consulting.
