RT reported on October 26 that in an interview with BBC on October 25, former US Vice President Kamala Harris, 61 years old, said she was sure the world would see a woman in power at the White House.
Asked if she could be that person, Ms Harris replied: "Maybe", adding that she had not yet decided whether to run for US President in 2028.
"I haven't stopped yet. I've lived my life serving people and that's ingrained in me. I haven't decided what I'm going to do in the future other than what I'm doing now," she continued.
Ms. Harris became the Democratic Party's presidential candidate in 2024 after Mr. Joe Biden withdrew from the White House race. Ms. Harris then lost to Mr. Trump in the presidential election in November 2024.
With the next presidential race still three years away, media speculation has emerged that potential Democratic candidates in the 2028 election could include Ms. Harris, California Governor Gavin Newsom and New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Among the Republican candidates, Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are considered the most likely key candidates. Mr. Trump himself has hinted that he could seek a third term, although the U.S. Constitution stipulates that the president can only serve a maximum of two terms.
