In a document released by the White House, Harris's physician, Dr. Joshua Simmons, said Harris' most recent physical examination in April was "unremarkable," according to Reuters .
The doctor also noted that Harris maintains an "active lifestyle" and "very healthy diet" despite her busy schedule, suffers from seasonal allergies, occasional hives, and drinks alcohol in moderation.
"In summary, Vice President Harris remains in excellent health. She possesses the physical and mental stamina to successfully perform the duties of the presidency, including those of commander in chief," Dr. Simmons wrote.
Ms Harris, 59, is running for the White House against Republican rival Donald Trump, 78.
After Ms. Harris's health records were made public, a spokesperson for Ms. Harris's election committee posted on social media: "Your turn, Donald Trump."
Ms Harris accused Mr Donald Trump of a lack of transparency in releasing his medical records, saying the Republican candidate "does not want the American people to know whether he is fit to be president".
In response, Mr Trump's campaign said the Republican candidate had an "extremely busy and eventful campaign schedule" and that Ms Harris "does not have the same stamina as President Trump".
Harris’s campaign said the vice president had released his medical information in an effort to draw attention to Trump’s refusal to do so, and was keen to highlight Trump’s age since he became the oldest candidate in the race after President Joe Biden, 82, announced he was ending his re-election bid in late July.
Harris's campaign also hopes that the contrast between her youth and mental acuity and Trump's older age and tendency to be evasive, and the difference in transparency between the two, will help convince undecided voters that the US vice president is better suited to the White House.
