Bac Lieu and Soc Trang approve administrative unit arrangement projects

At the Conference of the Executive Committee of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee, delegates discussed and approved the following projects: Ending the activities of the Party Committees of districts, towns, cities and the Party Committees of communes, wards and towns. Accordingly, the Party Committees of communes and wards are newly under the Provincial Party Committee; The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee decided to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Inspection Committee, Chairman, Deputy Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Party Committees of communes and wards for the 2020-2025 term and the 2025-2030 term.

At the same time, the district level will end its operations and establish the organizational structure of the new commune and ward political system. It is expected that the commune-level local government will be allocated 32 positions; the name will be according to the new administrative unit (after the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee).

In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations assigned by the Party and the State at the commune level will be reorganized and streamlined. The commune-level Front Congress will be held after the commune and ward Party Congresses. After the reorganization, there will be two mass organizations assigned by the Party and the State, namely the Red Cross Association and the Oriental Medicine Association.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee Huynh Quoc Viet highly appreciated the efforts of cadres of functional departments and branches in completing a difficult and large amount of work in a very short time.

At the same time, it is recommended to continue to coordinate with Ca Mau province to complete the projects to ensure consistency and complete the projects before May 15. Localities need to urgently complete the preparation work for commune-level congresses. The Provincial Party Standing Committee has agreed to schedule the congress to take place in July, choosing Phuoc Long commune and Bac Lieu ward (new ward-level administrative unit) as the units to organize the model congresses...

On the same day, the Standing Committee of Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee held a conference of key cadres to implement the cadre work process. Accordingly, after completing the procedures for appointment and introduction, the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee implemented the process of electing additional members of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term for Colonel Vo Thanh Le, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command.

* On May 13, the Standing Committee of Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee held a meeting with the Standing Committees and Heads of the Organizing Committees of the district, town and city Party Committees in the province to give opinions on the Project to end the activities of the old district and commune-level Party Committees and establish new commune and ward Party Committees.

Accordingly, the Provincial Party Standing Committee requested the Provincial Party Organization Committee to advise, guide, and appraise the development of a project to end the activities of the old district-level and commune-level party committees; and establish a new commune-level party committee.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee Lam Van Man highly appreciated the proactive coordination of localities with specialized agencies advising and assisting the Provincial Party Committee, relevant agencies and units to effectively implement the tasks of reorganizing the apparatus, ending the district-level administrative units, and reorganizing the commune-level administrative units. After the decision to establish a new commune-level Party Committee was made, the Standing Committee of the Commune-level Party Committee decided to establish a staff agency, assisting agencies and public service units of the Commune-level Party Committee according to regulations.

The Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee agreed with the Project to end the activities of the old district and commune-level Party Committees and establish a new commune-level Party Committee. At the same time, he reminded localities about the arrangement of socio-political organizations and mass associations assigned by the Party and State to be under the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the commune level, which must be synchronized with the merger of administrative units. At the same time, he paid attention to the work of arranging and assigning cadres closely and appropriately, creating high consensus.
