On Sunday morning, March 16, hundreds of people lined up at Bac Ninh Museum early to register for a free tour to visit the province's tourist attractions during the day. Many tourists took advantage of the weekend to travel independently from Hanoi and neighboring localities.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Con, Head of the Tourism Department of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province, said the number of visitors to the province has increased in the past two weeks. There are no official statistics, but Mr. Con said that free tours are fully booked, with about 400-500 people signing up each week. The number of visitors outside the free program has also increased.
"It is undeniable that the MV Bac Bling has had a very good resonance effect, helping more tourists come to Bac Ninh ," said Mr. Con.
Ms. Lien Nguyen, from Hanoi, visited Bac Ninh for the first time on March 15. She said she decided to visit the province after watching the MV. "Bac Ninh is beautiful, the people are friendly and there is a lot of delicious food," Ms. Lien said.
Giang Trinh, a photographer from Hanoi, visited Bac Ninh on Sunday, March 16. He said that tourist attractions were crowded with visitors, mostly from neighboring areas. Private cars filled the parking lot. "Bac Ninh has many traditional craft villages, beautiful and friendly scenery," Giang said.
The free tours are organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh to promote tourism, create an effect for tourists, and bring real experiences to craft villages and relics. In addition, these tours also serve as "models" to help travel agencies organize to bring tourists to Bac Ninh.
In 2023, the Department organized free tours to promote tourism after Covid-19, but the results were not as good as now, according to Mr. Con.

From March 8, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh has launched a free tour for tourists. The tour takes place during the day, with a tour guide, departing at 8am and ending around 5pm.
The first tour includes Bac Ninh Museum - But Thap Pagoda - Dau Pagoda - Dong Ho Painting Village - Do Temple - Bac Ninh Museum. The second tour includes Bac Ninh Museum - Phat Tich Pagoda - Kinh Duong Vuong Mausoleum - Phu Lang Pottery Village - Nguyen Cao Temple - Dien Quang Pagoda - Bac Ninh Museum.
Tourists travel on 45-seat buses, with 2-3 trips per day. On Sundays, the number of visitors is twice as high as on Saturdays. Currently, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh is reviewing the registration method to better implement free tours, to avoid the phenomenon of visitors arriving but not being able to go.
