Bac Ninh attracts more than 856 million USD in investment capital

By licensing and increasing investment capital for a number of projects, Bac Ninh province has attracted more than 856 million USD, demonstrating its determination to accompany businesses and strongly improve the investment environment.

On the morning of May 12, Bac Ninh province held a conference to meet with private enterprises in the field of science and technology in the area, with the message: "Bac Ninh enterprises make technological breakthroughs, link up for mutual development".

The conference was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and leaders of a number of ministries, branches, industry associations, functional units of the province, and businesses.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung welcomed Bac Ninh province for organizing the event and praised the efforts and contributions of the private business community in the province.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the world is undergoing a period of rapid transformation, the global value chain is being reshaped, in which FDI enterprises are shifting towards new trends. Notably, investment capital flows into digital transformation, science and technology and innovation are constantly increasing.

In addition, FDI enterprises are focusing on green economic sectors and new economic sectors such as renewable energy; multinational corporations are increasingly concerned with safety and stability when participating in new investment projects, along with fierce competition for innovation.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung suggested that in the coming time, Bac Ninh province should focus on promoting science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; closely connecting domestic private enterprises with the FDI sector and the national innovation ecosystem; effectively supporting small and medium enterprises, upgrading their models to participate more deeply in the global value chain.

The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that Bac Ninh needs to strongly promote science, technology and innovation; link with FDI enterprises; support policies from the central to local levels must be substantial and effective; at the same time, promote the pioneering spirit, closely coordinate with Bac Giang province to reorient the development of the new Bac Ninh province, to become the economic growth pole of the region and the whole country.

Many businesses continue to invest and expand projects in Bac Ninh.

At the conference, Bac Ninh province also granted investment certificates to 7 enterprises, with a total investment capital of 856 million USD, including: Gilimex Bac Ninh Industrial Park Company Limited; Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation - JSC; H2T Bac Ninh Company Limited; Samsung Display Vietnam Company Limited; Fushan Technology Company Limited (Vietnam); Investor JIAZE HOLDING limited (Hong Kong, China) and Investor Amphenol Holding SG.

Of which, new investment certificates were granted to 3 domestic investors and 2 foreign enterprises; at the same time, investment certificates were granted to increase investment capital for 2 enterprises in the province.

Thus, in the first 4 months of 2025 alone, Bac Ninh province attracted more than 2.4 billion USD in investment capital, of which FDI capital was 1,932.99 million USD; domestic investment capital was 11,761 billion VND (equivalent to 470.44 million USD).

With continuous efforts in improving the investment environment, administrative reform, and enhancing competitiveness, Bac Ninh is increasingly attracting both domestic and foreign investment.

According to Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan, these are good initial steps, promising to make important contributions to the development of Bac Ninh province. Along with that, there is the development of private enterprises in the province, along with the foundation of science and technology.

Speaking at the Conference, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Vuong Quoc Tuan said that the program is an important event in the context that the whole country is making efforts to implement the major policies and orientations of the Central Government on comprehensive national development, including the implementation of Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, and Resolution No. 68 of the Politburo on private economic development.

“Bac Ninh province's consistent view is that private enterprises, especially in the field of science and technology, must become the main force in innovation, in the application of high technology and in the creation of sustainable values,” said Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan.

Also according to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, in recent times, the private business community in the field of science and technology in the province has grown continuously, many businesses have boldly invested in research and development (R&D), applying new technological achievements such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital technology, biotechnology, automation, contributing significantly to the process of modernizing production, increasing labor productivity and developing the knowledge economy in the province.

By 2024, Bac Ninh province has 24,877 enterprises, with a total registered charter capital of VND 430,450.85 billion and 6,610 affiliated units. The ratio of enterprises per capita of the province is 1.6% (equivalent to 16 enterprises/1,000 people).
