The 1kw Thomson transmitter (France) of the Radio and Television Station is one of more than 100 documents and artifacts displayed at the exhibition, associated with the history of Quang Ninh journalism in general, and radio and television in particular. With the province's investment resources, the investment in a new 1kw Thomson transmitter worth 60,000 USD, along with the UMATIC image editing system considered the most modern at that time; although there were only 3 cameras DXC1200, DXC1600, DXC1800, it was also a great determination and effort, clearly demonstrating the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee to propaganda work.
Thanks to that, on September 2, 1983, the first Quang Ninh television program was broadcast on channel 12VHF. With this event, Quang Ninh became the first province in the North to have a television program.
Old newspaper pages, time-worn cameras, or radios and televisions that are no longer present in daily life... However, each document and artifact is telling the people, tourists and the public about the stories of journalists, the flow of history, and the constant development. These are valuable documents that affirm a century of fighting, associated with each stage of construction and development, moving forward with the nation. The priceless assets displayed at this exhibition once again affirm that journalists are soldiers on the ideological front.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong (Hong Gai Ward, Ha Long City) said: This is the first time I have visited a press exhibition. Through this exhibition, I have a deeper understanding of the formation, development and construction of the press in Quang Ninh in particular and Vietnam in general. Not only does it bring to the people, tourists and the public stories about journalism through documents and events, the exhibition also once again affirms the courage, ethics and responsibility of revolutionary journalists through the ages.
This exhibition also introduces to the people and tourists many valuable photos about the working process of Quang Ninh journalists in each period. Those are the stories behind each newspaper page, each scene photo, or each newsreel that have contributed to reviving the spirit, courage, as well as the social responsibility of revolutionary journalists.
In addition to valuable documents, vivid images and artifacts associated with the development stages of Quang Ninh journalism, the exhibition also focuses on designing a scientific, methodical and attractive display space with the following spaces: 100 years of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism; history of Quang Ninh journalism; outstanding achievements of Quang Ninh province; virtual reality studio area. In particular, the Quang Ninh journalism history area is divided into the stages of 1928-1955, 1956-1985; 1986-2018 and from 2019 to present. Each stage of journalism is associated with the socio -economic development process of Quang Ninh and the country, while keeping up with international journalism trends.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Dung, Chief of Office of the Hung Yen Provincial Journalists Association, shared: We were really surprised to visit the press exhibition in Quang Ninh this time. The exhibition was organized with a long duration, large scale, scientific arrangement space, rich documents and artifacts, and a convenient location for visiting. The organization of the exhibition in Quang Ninh will also be an experience for local Journalists Associations to refer to and learn from.
In particular, at this exhibition, for the first time, people and visitors can learn about the infrastructure, technology, and experience the advanced television production technology of the Provincial Media Center with a virtual reality studio simulated as a miniature studio, with a professional, modern perspective often used in news bulletins, weather forecasts, etc. Here, people and visitors have the opportunity to experience being live presenters, interacting with virtual reality graphics, and recording reality.
Mr. Tran Manh Tuan (tourist from Hanoi) said: Luckily, during this trip to Quang Ninh, my family had the opportunity to visit the exhibition. Here, my family learned about and experienced the virtual reality studio with many modern machines, equipment, and technologies. At the same time, we understood more about the work of editors, reporters, and television technicians, as well as the investment interest of Quang Ninh province in the field of television in particular and journalism in general.
Not only recreating the historical flow of Quang Ninh press in particular, and Vietnamese press in general, elaborately, professionally and modernly, the exhibition has inspired many young generations, aroused love for journalism, and urged the responsibility of each citizen. Therefore, besides the people and tourists, the exhibition also attracted many groups of students to come to learn, study and experience.
Pham Trong Than, a student majoring in Literature - Journalism - Communication, Faculty of Pedagogy, Ha Long University, shared: At the exhibition, there were many artifacts that I saw for the first time , such as the camera that took a photo of Lieutenant An-ve-ret, the first American pilot captured alive by the people and army of Quang Ninh in the first battle on August 5, 1964; the Soviet loudspeaker (formerly) equipped for Hon Gai town in 1972; the version of Thanh Nien newspaper - the first Vietnamese revolutionary newspaper... I also got to hear stories about the careers of veteran journalists during the extremely difficult, yet extremely heroic years. That is the motivation for me to continue trying to improve my knowledge, improve my skills, and practice my ethics to become a brave reporter and journalist.
Ms. Dinh Thi Hang Nga, Director of the Cricket House Education and Creative Experience Company Limited, said: This exhibition is a valuable opportunity for young people who want to pursue a career in journalism. We appreciate this opportunity, so we took the opportunity to bring the center's students to visit the exhibition so that they can understand, love, and be passionate about journalism, nurture their dreams, and enrich their knowledge. If in the future, there are students from the center who work in the journalism, radio, and television industries, it will be a great happiness for us.
According to the Organizing Committee, after 10 days, the exhibition attracted about 4,000 people and tourists. The exhibition not only creates an attractive destination for people and tourists, but more importantly, it also inspires future generations, educates patriotism and national pride. The priceless assets displayed at the exhibition will continue to tell the stories of 100 years of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism for future generations. Behind each artifact is a destiny, a story that not only tells about the past, but also creates the urge for the present and the future.
