In the context that press agencies are facing fierce competition from social networks with their easy-to-access, easy-to-share, fast and diverse information, Vietnamese press needs to quickly take the lead in digital transformation. However, in reality, the digital transformation and multi-platform content production of press agencies in our country are currently facing many difficulties and challenges.

Currently, some press agencies have implemented digital transformation from stages such as: Transforming content production, focusing on user interest to create content suitable for reader and viewer segments; diversifying forms of content creation. Using multiple platforms to approach users in the method of "where the user is, there is information"; forming press links with social networks and digital platforms.

According to MSc. Nguyen Minh Hai, Head of the Press and Publishing Department, Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Propaganda Department, digital transformation of the press is an inevitable trend of press activities in the current period. Despite many efforts, the city's press agencies still face many difficulties in the process of digital transformation, such as technical infrastructure, capital, human resources, data exploitation and analysis, etc.

In recent times, the press in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the press in the country in general have gradually transformed digitally, creating creativity and gradually adapting to the new context. Some press agencies have proactively built multimedia convergence newsrooms, increasingly modern working environments, gradually implementing digital transformation according to the conditions of each newspaper and achieving important initial results.

MSc. Nguyen Van Khanh, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Press Center, commented that the digital transformation and multi-platform content production of press agencies in our country are currently facing many difficulties. These include the lack of autonomy in technology, not being able to completely control servers, CMS, security, Cloud... forcing them to depend on partner technology; being heavily influenced by information on social networks, at risk of being led by fake news, unverified news; press agencies are frequently having their content copyrights stolen, and so far there has been no solution to prevent it.

In addition, many general news websites, Facebook groups, and YouTube copy or "remix" the content to post according to their own intentions, distorting the content, deliberately steering public opinion in a negative direction, causing significant consequences for the social community.

At the workshop, delegates said that press agencies need to build a shared database, with data placed on the city's server system to enhance security. Focus on training, professional development, basic and necessary skills for reporters and journalists during their work, and digital transformation of journalism...
