Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and thanked the timely support of the leaders of Hoa Phat Group so that the people could have a new house to celebrate Tet and settle down. "The support of Hoa Phat Group and other benefactors in the housing reconstruction project for A Lu households is particularly meaningful, demonstrating the fine cultural tradition and mutual love of the nation. With the will to rise up and the solidarity of the people, I believe that the households will have a prosperous and happy life", the Chairman of Lao Cai province emphasized.

Due to the impact of storm No. 3 ( Yagi ), 35 houses in 7 villages of A Lu commune were completely destroyed by flash floods and landslides. According to the proposal of Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard Command, Hoa Phat Group supported the reconstruction of 28 houses. The construction cost of each house is about 350 million VND, of which Hoa Phat sponsored 200 million VND/house, equivalent to 5.6 billion VND. The rest is from other local sources and family contributions.

Lao Cai provincial leaders encouraged Mr. Ly A Sai's family to overcome immediate difficulties to build a new life.

Construction started on October 28, 2024, each house is 65 m2 wide, including 3 bedrooms, and a 15 m2 auxiliary building. The design of the houses ensures compliance with customs and construction costs. The house model is designed uniformly, directly appraised and approved by the People's Committee of Bat Xat district.

Mr. Ly A Sai said that in the landslide on September 9, 2024 due to the influence of storm No. 3 (Yagi), the family's old house was buried along with all their belongings. His three sons work far from home, and Mr. Sai and his wife escaped death when they returned home late from work the night before and had to sleep at their father-in-law's house. "The old house was just a dirt house, but now that we have a solid, sturdy concrete house, it will be warmer even when winter comes, even if it snows and freezes," said Mr. Sai.

Representative of Hoa Phat Group (left) received a certificate of merit from Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee for its outstanding achievements in supporting the recovery from the consequences of storm No. 3.

According to the Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard, in addition to the first house of Mr. Ly A Sai's family, 8 houses are completing the final stages and 19 houses are under construction. In the coming time, the construction unit will urgently complete and hand over the houses to the households as soon as possible. Any completed house will be inspected, handed over and put into use immediately.

During this time, the border commune of A Lu is always covered in fog, wet, and slippery roads, making it extremely difficult to transport materials. The roads to some households are located on high terrain, materials are gathered about 1 km from the construction site, then motorbikes and bricks must be mobilized to be carried to the construction site. The border guards will closely coordinate with construction units to complete 28 houses on schedule and ensure the quality of the works for the households, so that people have a home to celebrate Tet.

Along with supporting the reconstruction of Lang Nu and Nam Tong, supporting the construction of 28 houses for people in A Lu commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai is a practical action of Hoa Phat to help people rebuild after storms and floods to have solid houses, settle down, and stabilize their lives.
