Dam Quoc Khanh (from Hung Yen) said that the 10km route is more popular with tourists because it has many beautiful scenes and rich experiences. With this trekking route, tourists will overcome 6 rocky slopes, cross many primeval forests and conquer steep and dangerous mountain peaks such as Ang Vat, May Bau, Ang Phay, etc. In addition, tourists also have the opportunity to explore some attractive destinations on the journey such as: Ngu Lam Peak, Ao Ech, etc.

Quoc Khanh and his group of friends completed the 8km trekking route in 5 hours, from 12 noon to 5 pm. The 9X was impressed with the trekking route they had passed because of the beautiful, fresh and cool scenery. “During the journey to conquer the route through Cat Ba National Park, our group crossed the mossy and slippery cat-ear rocks. There were some difficult sections, but in return, the landscape was very beautiful, covered in green. We also encountered animals such as butterflies, birds and many large storks,” Quoc Khanh shared.

For a safe and enjoyable trekking trip, Quoc Khanh suggests that visitors to Cat Ba Island this season should bring mosquito repellent, insect repellent, food, drinks, electrolytes (to compensate for the salt lost while climbing the mountain and food to avoid hypoglycemia). In addition, visitors should equip themselves with anti-slip shoes and gloves because the trekking route goes through many places with slippery moss and sharp rocks.

Being the final stop of the trekking route through Cat Ba National Park, and possessing a fresh and green space, Viet Hai village has also become an attractive tourist destination, especially for foreign tourists. Sharing with VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Vu Phi Hung - Party Secretary, Chairman of Viet Hai Commune People's Committee said that in the past 5 years, Viet Hai village has been known and experienced by more tourists thanks to the development orientation and new tourism products of the locality.

Not only possessing a wild and idyllic natural landscape, Viet Hai village is also likened by tourists as a place where "people can sleep without locking their doors, and their vehicles can be left outside all day without being stolen" (Photo: DL Black).

On average, Viet Hai village welcomes 700 - 800 foreign tourists every day, and in the summer it can reach more than 2,000 visitors per day, not including domestic tourists. This also helps the food and accommodation services in this locality to operate more actively, creating jobs and increasing income for local people. According to Mr. Vu Phi Hung, Viet Hai currently has 87 households and more than half of them participate in tourism and services. In the commune, there are also many tourism and homestay-style accommodation facilities with their own unique features.
