New salary table for police and army from July 1, 2024

The Politburo has agreed to not pay salaries according to job position, instead increasing the basic salary by about 30%, from 1.8 million VND/month to 2.34 million VND/month from July 1.

Currently, salaries of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and armed forces are calculated by multiplying the base salary by the salary coefficient. The salary coefficient is calculated according to the rank of each group of civil servants.

Thus, the salary of military officers and professional soldiers from July 1, 2024 will still be implemented according to current regulations with the following formula:

Salary of military officers and professional soldiers is equal to the salary coefficient of military officers and professional soldiers multiplied by the basic salary.

In which: The basic salary from July 1, 2024 is 2.34 million VND/month; the salary coefficient of military officers depends on military rank.

In addition, currently, in addition to receiving salary according to coefficient, military officers also receive other allowances, such as: Seniority, position allowance... With this regulation, these allowances have not changed.

At the June 2024 press conference on outstanding results of the first 6 months of the year, Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra said that the Politburo had agreed to implement 4/6 clear contents, eligible for implementation in the salary policy reform project from July 1.

There are still 2 contents that have not been implemented, including new salary tables (eliminating basic salary and salary coefficient); restructuring and arranging into 9 new allowance regimes, due to many shortcomings, it is necessary to continue to study and complete step by step, carefully; at the same time, it is necessary to review and submit to competent authorities for consideration of amending or abolishing regulations related to basic salary.
