Car driver killed by train while crossing railway

On the evening of August 25, speaking with Thanh Nien reporter, Mr. Hoang Van Hieu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Viet Hung commune (Van Lam district, Hung Yen province) said that a traffic accident had just occurred in the commune, a train hit a car head-on, causing the car driver to die.

According to Mr. Hieu, at around 4:20 p.m. on August 25, at the self-opened level crossing with the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway (section through Cu Dinh village, Viet Hung commune), driver Nguyen Binh Y. (26 years old, residing in My Hao town, Hung Yen province) drove a 9-seat car with license plate 89D - 00... across the railway.

At this time, the passenger train LP5 traveling from Hanoi to Hai Phong to the above location collided with a car driven by Mr. Y. The car was dragged by the train for more than 100 meters before stopping.

As a result, Mr. Y. died in the driver's seat, the car was severely damaged.

Authorities moved the car away from the scene so the train could continue its journey.

Immediately after the accident, the train crew and relevant authorities made a record of the scene, moved the victims and road vehicles off the railway so that the train could continue its journey.

The incident is being investigated by the police.
