This afternoon, July 5, Quang Tri Newspaper solemnly held a celebration of the 35th anniversary of the first issue on July 13 (1989 - 2024). Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Ho Dai Nam; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam; Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Duong Tan Long; leaders of departments, branches, sectors; standing committees of district, town, and city Party Committees in the province; leaders of newspapers: Nhan Dan Newspaper, Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper, Ha Noi Moi Newspaper, Thua Thien Hue Newspaper, Quang Binh Newspaper, Lam Dong Newspaper, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper; former leaders of Quang Tri Newspaper and officials and civil servants of Quang Tri Newspaper through the periods attended.

Overcome all difficulties to complete the task excellently
Speaking at the ceremony, Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper Truong Duc Minh Tu stated: On July 1, 1989, from the common roof of Binh Tri Thien, Quang Tri province was re-established. However, before that, on June 10, 1989, the Provisional Executive Committee of Quang Tri province issued Decision No. 01/TV on the establishment of Quang Tri Newspaper. On July 13, 1989, Quang Tri Newspaper published its first issue.
Over the past 35 years, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Quang Tri Newspaper has overcome all difficulties to successfully complete its assigned political tasks. When it was first established, the newspaper published once a week. From July 2011 to present, Quang Tri Newspaper has published six times a week. In addition, the newspaper also publishes special issues at the end of the month, special issues to celebrate major holidays and important political events of the homeland and country.

Since the fourth quarter of 2008, the Quang Tri Newspaper website has been launched. In early 2020, the website was upgraded to Quang Tri Electronic Newspaper. In addition to Vietnamese, Quang Tri Electronic Newspaper also has an English page with 6 sections. Information on Quang Tri Electronic Newspaper is widely shared on social networking platforms and many newspapers nationwide.
Over the past time, Quang Tri Newspaper has made many contributions to the development of journalism. Notably, many reporters have won central and local journalism awards, writing contests on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. The newspaper has hosted the Central and Central Highlands Party Newspaper Conference three times in 1995, 2008, and 2023.

Along with information and propaganda work, the task of newspaper distribution is also given attention and focus. Currently, Quang Tri newspaper distributes an average of about 6,000 copies/issue; Quang Tri online newspaper has a large number of visitors with thousands of readers accessing it every day. Notably, all 3,162 delegates of People's Councils at all levels; secretaries of Party cells under the Party Committees of communes, wards and towns; village heads, and prestigious people in the ethnic minority community all have Quang Tri newspaper.
In addition to performing professional tasks, Quang Tri Newspaper regularly organizes social activities with a total value of tens of billions of VND. For example, in 2020 and 2021, Quang Tri Newspaper promptly organized relief, livelihood support, and learning facilities for people and students affected by natural disasters and epidemics with a total value of about 5.5 billion VND.

In 2022, the newspaper donated 360 bicycles to poor students; organized the "July Affection" program; gave "Tet gifts to the poor" with a total value of nearly 2.8 billion VND. In 2023 and the first 6 months of 2024, the newspaper continued to carry out gratitude activities worth over 7 billion VND.
Currently, the newspaper has annual charity programs such as: "Tet gifts for the poor", "July love"; "Quang Tri Newspaper's Compassionate Arms" program is organized regularly throughout the year.

After 35 years of construction and development, Quang Tri Newspaper has been honored to receive the Second and First Class Labor Medals from the State, the Government's Emulation Flag and certificates of merit from central and provincial ministries and branches.

At the ceremony, former leaders of Quang Tri Newspaper and leaders of press agencies gave congratulatory speeches and discussed the achievements, difficulties in propaganda and publishing work over 35 years of construction and development, along with some solutions for Quang Tri Newspaper to better fulfill its assigned political tasks in the coming time.

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang affirmed: Quang Tri Newspaper is increasingly performing better its function as the voice of the Party and government, and as a forum for cadres, party members and people.
The staff, reporters and editors of the newspaper have matured in all aspects, maintaining political qualities, professional ethics, social responsibility and obligations of journalists; their working ability, professional qualifications and expertise are increasingly improved.
Thereby, contributing to maintaining political security, promoting socio-economic development; consolidating and strengthening the great national unity bloc, encouraging the cause of innovation, building and developing the homeland.

Promoting the achievements after 35 years of re-establishing the province (1989 - 2024), Quang Tri is making efforts to transform itself for development and integration. Therefore, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council hopes that Quang Tri Newspaper will continue to accompany and pioneer in information and propaganda work on the life, politics, and socio-economics of the province. Pay more attention to policy communication work, contributing to bringing policies into life, turning policies into driving forces for development.
Journalists need to make more efforts and handle well the challenges in journalism activities to achieve “professionalism, humanity and modernity”. We must pay special attention to the task of participating in building a truly clean and strong Party and political system; fighting against corruption and negativity; strengthening information and propaganda so that cadres, party members and the masses can correctly understand and properly implement the Party’s guidelines and policies and the State’s laws; proactively identify, criticize, refute and defeat erroneous and hostile viewpoints...

In the context of strong development of social media, more than ever, the press must create a positive information flow, spread, lead and orient public opinion towards good things; make an important contribution to building the national value system, family value system, Vietnamese human value system; revolutionary ethical standards of cadres and party members in the new period; constantly foster, consolidate and promote the good values of the nation.

On this occasion, Quang Tri Newspaper summarized the Forum "What does Quang Tri do to develop quickly and sustainably". Previously, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Quang Tri province on May 1 (1972 - 2022), Quang Tri Newspaper organized the forum: "What does Quang Tri do to develop quickly and sustainably"; opened the column "What does Quang Tri do to develop quickly and sustainably" in print and online newspapers.
At the forum and newspaper column, many leading economic experts of Vietnam, managers, leaders and former leaders of the province, leaders of departments and branches, and leaders of localities participated in giving advice and contributing ideas on socio-economic development of the province.
