According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 10:00 a.m. on June 12, the center of storm No. 1 was located at about 17.1 degrees North latitude; 110.3 degrees East longitude, in the area west of Hoang Sa archipelago.
The strongest wind near the storm center is level 8-9 (62-88km/h), gusting to level 11. The storm is currently moving in a West-Northwest direction, at a speed of about 5-10km/h.
Warning of strong winds and high waves at sea
Northwestern East Sea area, including Hoang Sa archipelago and offshore waters from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai provinces: strong winds of level 6-8, near the storm center of level 9-10, gusting to level 13. Waves are 4-6m high, very rough seas.
Gulf of Tonkin: From the night of June 12, the wind will gradually increase to level 6-7, then increase to level 8-9 near the storm center, gusting to level 11. Waves are commonly 2-4m high, with rough seas.
Warning of danger to vessels: Sea areas affected by storms are likely to experience tornadoes, strong thunderstorms, and large waves, which are very dangerous for maritime activities.

Risk of rising water and high tides (coastal waters)
From the afternoon and evening of June 12, coastal areas from Hai Phong to Nghe An will be affected by high tides combined with storm surges, causing the risk of flooding in low-lying areas and river mouths. Forecasted sea level rise is as follows: Hon Dau: about 3.9m; Hon Ngu: about 2.8m; Time of high risk of flooding: from 5pm to 7pm, June 12 and 13.
Heavy rain on land, beware of flash floods and landslides
Due to the influence of the storm circulation, from June 12 to 13, the mainland will experience widespread heavy rain, concentrated in: Central Central region with common rainfall from 100-200mm, some places over 350mm; Southern Nghe An, Ha Tinh , Northern Central Highlands and Binh Dinh: from 30-80mm, some places over 150mm.
Warning of high risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas, localized flooding in urban areas and low-lying areas.
