
This is one of a series of activities to celebrate International Museum Day (May 18), with the contents of exploring the space displaying the culture of Quang Nam's islands and seas, presenting slides introducing ecological diversity and cultural heritage of the islands and seas, participating in intellectual games and drawing and decorating works about Quang Nam's islands and seas.
Students also visited and learned about the unique collection of specimens of marine life in Cu Lao Cham; the collection of fishing equipment and tools; learned about craft villages and traditional festivals associated with the lives of coastal residents, including the art of performing “ba trao” in the “cau ngu” festival...

Le Bao Ngan (student of grade 7/4, Le Hong Phong Secondary School, Tam Ky City) shared: “This is a very useful program, the artifacts help me understand more about the daily life of coastal residents. Through this, I have more pride and deep affection for my homeland Quang Nam; raising awareness of preserving and promoting the cultural values of the sea and islands”.
Mr. Tran Van Duc - Deputy Director of the Quang Nam Monuments and Museums Management Board said that the program creates a close connection between museums and schools in educating about local traditions, history and culture; at the same time, it contributes to improving the effectiveness of extracurricular activities and innovating history teaching methods for secondary school students in the province.

Currently, the program welcomes nearly 900 guests who are students in Tam Ky city and neighboring localities.
