After identifying the teams participating in the final match, Thailand's Siam Sport newspaper wrote: "Buriram United won the right to enter the final of the Southeast Asian C1 Cup, facing coach Mano Polking's team."
"Buriram United won 3-1 on aggregate against BG Pathum United after two semi-final matches, thereby meeting CAHN Club again. The first leg of the final will take place on May 14, and the second leg of the final will take place on May 21," Siam Sport added.
The fate between Buriram United and CAHN seems to be quite thick. In the group stage, the two sides were rivals. In addition, CAHN is currently led by coach Mano Polking, an old acquaintance of Thai football.
Mr. Mano Polking has led the Bangkok United, Suphaburi and Thai Army clubs. Notably, this coach with dual German and Brazilian nationality also led the Thai U23 team in 2012 and led the Thai national team from 2021 to 2023.

Coach Mano Polking helped the Thai team win two AFF Cups in 2020 and 2022. Therefore, Mr. Mano Polking understands Thai football very well.
According to the media in the Land of the Golden Pagoda, CAHN has many advantages before the final match of the Southeast Asian Cup C1 against Buriram United.
In another article, Siam Sport shared: "Vietnamese football has adjusted the V-League schedule to help CAHN Club have more conditions to play in the final match of the Southeast Asian C1 Cup".
"VFF and VPF have postponed the match between CAHN and Binh Dinh Club to June 3, instead of taking place between May 25 and May 27, with the aim of helping CAHN Club focus on the regional tournament.
In addition, the postponement of the match between CAHN and Binh Dinh is also consistent with the training schedule of the Vietnamese team. The Vietnamese team will have a decisive match against the Malaysian team on June 10, within the framework of the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup," the leading sports newspaper in Thailand wrote.
