Thailand's website thaipublica.org recently published an article positively evaluating Vietnam's recent socio -economic development achievements as well as Vietnam's efforts and contributions to the solidarity, unity and central role of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

According to a VNA reporter in Bangkok, the article stated that in the context of ongoing global instability, Vietnam continues to emerge as one of the most stable and resilient countries in Southeast Asia.

A stable political environment, solid economic growth and strong social development have cemented Vietnam's reputation as an attractive destination for investment and tourism.

Despite external challenges, Vietnam's economy has maintained strong growth momentum, driven by export diversification, solid domestic demand and a favorable investment environment.

The government’s focus on reform, innovation and sustainable growth has boosted the confidence of international investors. Coupled with its rich culture and warm hospitality, Vietnam has become one of the most promising tourist destinations in the region.

The article emphasizes that at the regional level, Vietnam is increasingly active in promoting ASEAN's unity and central role.

Vietnam has always been a strong supporter of maintaining ASEAN cohesion in the changing geopolitical context, emphasizing dialogue, consensus building and collective resilience. Vietnam’s constructive foreign policy has contributed to promoting mutual trust and cooperation within the bloc.

Regarding key regional issues, in recent years, Vietnam and ASEAN have continued to shape and reaffirm their basic principles related to the East Sea issue in the spirit of objectivity and constructive dialogue, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea.

Regarding the Mekong River, Vietnam calls for sustainable and equitable use of shared water resources among riparian countries.

In the context of increasing competition among major powers, Vietnam emphasizes ASEAN's strategic autonomy and the need to maintain Southeast Asia as a region of peace, stability and balanced development.

The article commented that Vietnam has proactively strengthened bilateral relations, especially with key partners in the region. Vietnam's upgrading of relations with Thailand to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in May 2025 is a testament to this commitment.

At multilateral forums, especially within the ASEAN framework, Vietnam and Thailand have demonstrated close coordination and consistent common stance.

The phone call on October 21 between Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reaffirmed the two countries' intention to continue close cooperation within ASEAN-led mechanisms, as well as in the international arena, to address pressing regional issues such as sustainable development in the Mekong sub-region, connectivity, regional peace and security.

Through this cooperation, Vietnam and Thailand are strengthening strategic links and contributing to a more cohesive and effective ASEAN Community.

The article concludes that with a consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance and proactive participation, Vietnam continues to be a reliable partner and actively contributes to ASEAN's common goals, contributing to building a more united, stable and prosperous region./.
