According to the on-site report, Provincial Road 623 leading to the center of Son Tay commune has 5 serious landslides, isolating 6,000 households inside. Currently, the Department of Construction of Quang Ngai province is mobilizing machinery and equipment to urgently clear the route as soon as possible.
The Deputy Prime Minister directly discussed with local authorities and military forces about the situation of food supply and access to people. The Deputy Prime Minister called a number of commune officials in the isolated area and learned that, because the incident had only happened 2 days ago, many households were still self-sufficient, but "some households had run out of food" and needed immediate support.

The Deputy Prime Minister asked localities to "encourage people and those with better conditions to help those in more difficult circumstances", and directed the defense forces to "find every way to connect and bring the most necessary food and necessities to people tonight".
On-site forces were "on constant duty", while mobilizing military and local vehicles to open roads and fix landslides, "working all night".
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Quang Ngai province should review all landslide sites, determine the causes and develop a long-term treatment plan.

According to a quick report from Quang Ngai province, during this flood, in Quang Ngai province, there are 15 communes/wards flooded from 0.3-3 m deep, more than 5,200 households flooded from 0.3-1.5 m. In which, the most seriously affected is Phuoc Giang commune with 1,986 houses flooded from 1-2 m deep; followed by Binh Minh commune with 1,300 houses flooded from 1-2.5 m deep; Binh Chuong commune has 500 houses flooded from 1-1.5 m.
By the morning of October 30, the water had receded, no households were deeply flooded, only local flooding remained on traffic routes in Tra Bong and old Nghia Hanh districts, 0.2-0.4 m.

The whole province has 170 landslide locations, with soil and rocks spilling onto the road surface on national and provincial highways. The heavily affected routes include: National Highway 14C, National Highway 24, National Highway 24B, National Highway 24C, National Highway 40B; Provincial Highway 622B, Provincial Highway 622C, Provincial Highway 623, Provincial Highway 624, Provincial Highway 626, Provincial Highway 628, etc.
80 inter-commune roads have been eroded and damaged. Currently, water levels on rivers in Quang Ngai continue to fall below alert level 2.
