Urgent support for Central localities to overcome flood consequences

(Chinhphu.vn) - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Official Dispatch No. 205/CD-TTg dated October 31, 2025 of the Prime Minister on urgent support for localities in the Central region to overcome the consequences of floods.

The Central region experienced exceptionally heavy rain and floods, causing heavy damage to people and property, and many households were isolated.

Telegrams sent to the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the provinces and cities: Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai; Ministers of the Ministries: National Defense, Finance, Health, Agriculture and Environment.

Due to the impact of storm circulation No. 12 combined with cold air and high-altitude easterly winds, the Central region has experienced exceptionally heavy rain and floods, causing heavy damage to people and property. Many households have been isolated and at risk of hunger after many days of flooding and traffic disruption. To ensure people's lives, prevent people from lacking food, and promptly handle the environment after floods, the Prime Minister requests:

1. The Minister of Finance , within his authority, shall handle and provide famine relief rice to people in flood-affected areas at the request of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province and other localities; complete and report to the Prime Minister the implementation results by October 31, 2025.

2. The Ministry of National Defense directs Military Region IV, Military Region V and relevant agencies and units to immediately process requests for dry food support from localities (in which, Quang Ngai province requested support of 02 tons of dry food); to be completed by October 31, 2025.

3. The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security direct the arrangement of vehicles and forces to support localities in receiving, transporting, and distributing rice and dry food to people in need of relief.

Distribute rice, dry food and supplies to households to prevent hunger and disease outbreaks after floods.

4. The Minister of Health, within his authority, directs the immediate handling of the provision of medical drugs and chemicals to treat water sources and the environment after floods (Chloramin B, Aquatabs, ...) as requested by localities (in which, Quang Ngai province requests support of 100 medical drug bases, 5 tons of ChloraminB, 50,000 Aquatabs tablets; Hue city requests support of 10 tons of ChloraminB, 20 tons of benkocid chemicals); complete at the latest and report to the Prime Minister by November 1, 2025.

5. The Minister of Agriculture and Environment promptly directs the handling of chemical support for water treatment, environment, disease prevention and control for livestock, poultry, etc.; support for crop and livestock varieties to restore production after floods (in which, Hue city requests support of 02 tons of vegetable seeds, 05 tons of corn seeds; 50,000 doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine; 02 million doses of avian influenza vaccine).

6. The Chairmen of the People's Committees of the provinces and cities of Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Ngai coordinate with the Ministries to receive and distribute rice, dry food, and supplies to support households, to prevent hunger and disease outbreaks after floods./.
