Promoting the unique cultural values of indigenous people, Lac Duong district is speeding up the construction of the K'Ho Traditional Village in Dung K'si village, Da Chais commune to preserve local traditional culture associated with building attractive community tourism spots.

K'Ho ethnic traditional village in Dung K'si hamlet contributes to preserving and promoting the unique cultural values of indigenous people associated with the development of community tourism in Lac Duong district. |
The K'Ho traditional village in Dung K'si hamlet, Da Chais commune, Lac Duong district was approved by the Provincial People's Committee and agreed to implement the Project to preserve each typical traditional village of ethnic minorities from the investment capital of the National Target Program on Socio -economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021-2025. The project was assigned to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province in coordination with the People's Committee of Lac Duong district to implement, with a total investment of over 13 billion VND; of which, the part invested by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has a total investment of 8.05 billion VND, Lac Duong district invested 5 billion VND from the district budget and assigned to the People's Committee of Da Chais commune as the investor.
Started at the end of July 2023, up to now, the implementation results of phase 1 items have completed over 90% of the volume. Of which, the part invested by the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism has completed 98% of the volume, including: construction of gates, flagpoles, rest huts, community activity houses, traditional activity houses, toilets and tree planting items. The part invested by the People's Committee of Da Chais commune has carried out items: leveling, yard system, gate and parking lot, earth retaining wall, drainage system, water supply system... reaching 90% of the volume. Currently, the People's Committee of Da Chais commune is speeding up the construction progress of the electrical system item to complete phase 1 by the end of March 2024.
According to Chairman of Da Chais Commune People's Committee Than Van Nghien, the development of a plan to preserve K'Ho culture is the basis for supporting and encouraging the active participation of the community in tourism activities, in order to exploit the potential of cultural identity, natural landscape and environment, contributing to creating jobs and increasing income for people, especially in disadvantaged ethnic minority areas like Da Chais.
Vice Chairman of Lac Duong District People's Committee Cil Poh said that the development of the K'Ho Traditional Village in Dung K'si village, Da Chais commune aims at cultural tourism products with unique characteristics, becoming an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists. From there, restore the cultural values of traditional craft villages of indigenous people such as brocade, musical instruments, cuisine, rice wine... contributing to creating jobs and increasing income for local people. At the same time, propagate, mobilize and guide people to preserve the good traditional culture of their people, be proud and appreciate the spiritual values, ethics, good customs, promote traditional positive cultural values in life.
Along with the development of the K'Ho Traditional Village, the locality also guides households in the commune to renovate and embellish houses in an environmentally friendly manner, associated with K'Ho cultural identities to ensure the requirements of both preserving traditional values of the nation and meeting the standards of accommodation models serving tourists; building model gardens associated with household economic development, expanding industries and services, developing clean agricultural products suitable to local soil conditions to create rich and diverse products, guiding people to participate in developing community tourism. Along with that, building tourist routes linking the Traditional Village with tourist attractions in the commune and district, aiming to develop tourism into a local strength.
Da Chais is a remote and disadvantaged commune of Lac Duong district, with over 70% of the K'Ho ethnic group. With a long history of development, the K'Ho community has preserved and promoted many tangible cultural values such as stilt houses, gongs, traditional costumes, festivals... Preserving and developing the traditional culture of the K'Ho ethnic group in conjunction with developing community tourism will contribute to promoting socio-economic development and introducing and promoting the culture and people of Da Chais commune in particular and Lac Duong district in general.
