Arrested 10 subjects in gambling ring of over 10 billion VND

Since early May, through the work of grasping the situation, the Criminal Police Department and Nghi Loc District Police discovered a gambling ring, organizing gambling in the form of recording lottery numbers with many participants. The leaders of this gambling ring are two subjects Tran Danh Dung (40 years old, residing in Ha Huy Tap ward, Vinh city) and Tran Thi Kim Anh (26 years old, residing in Quan Hanh town, Nghi Loc district).

During the process of monitoring and collecting sufficient evidence, on May 26, the police arrested and searched the residences of 10 subjects residing in Nghi Loc district and Vinh city; confiscated an iPad, 13 mobile phones of various types, and a paper recording lottery numbers.

Initially, the authorities proved that the amount of money the subjects gambled with lottery numbers from the beginning of May 2023 until the time of arrest was more than 10 billion VND. On the day the subjects were arrested, they gambled with nearly 500 million VND.

The investigation agency has detained the above subjects for investigation and clarification and continues to verify and expand the investigation.
