Suddenly removing the C00 block, candidates are caught off guard

(NLDO) - After the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU Hanoi) announced its admission method for 2025, many opinions expressed concerns on social networks.

On the evening of June 4, many posts appeared on social networks claiming that canceling the C00 block admission exam at this time left candidates unable to react.

Accordingly, in just 20 days, more than 1.1 million students will enter the high school graduation exam. However, many universities in Hanoi have announced that they will not consider admission or will reduce the number of admission majors for this group.

Candidates are worried about the announcement of many schools canceling admission to block C00.

Recently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU Hanoi) announced that it will reduce the consideration of the literature - history - geography (C00) combination in 17 majors. Previously, the Academy of Journalism and Communication and the University of Law (VNU Hanoi) also officially announced that they would no longer consider this group.

Minh Huy, a 12th grader in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the announcement of admissions by universities like this makes students very confused, because many students have decided to study for the C00 block since 10th grade.

"I have applied to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-HCM) for journalism, applying for block C00. Currently, I am very worried about whether Ho Chi Minh City will change like in Hanoi or not" - Huy expressed.

Another candidate said that the independent admission of group D for journalism or public relations is unfair to candidates who have studied group C00. However, everything could have been handled if the school had announced this information earlier.

Another account said that it is reasonable for the school to stop recruiting for block C00 or reduce the number of majors recruiting for this block. Because the 2018 General Education Program has had many innovations.

Students and parents learn about the training programs and complexes of universities in Ho Chi Minh City.

Some candidates said they would "change direction" to focus on reviewing block D, sprinting in the last 20 days. Others said they would continue reviewing block C and look for other universities that accept this exam block.

Currently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-HCM) has not announced the 2025 enrollment method.

In 2024, in the admission method using the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam, the highest standard score belongs to the C00 group, specifically journalism is the major with the highest admission score with 28.8 points, tourism and travel services management with 28.33 points, cultural studies 28.2 points, art studies 28.15 points and history 28.1 points.
