Group of foreigners arrested for transporting weapons across the border

On the morning of June 10, Cao Bang Provincial Police said that the police force presided over and coordinated with the Border Guard to detect and arrest a group of Chinese people who illegally entered and exited the country; stored and transported a large quantity of military weapons across the border.

Specifically, through reconnaissance work and understanding the local situation, on the night of June 6 and early morning of June 7, in Noi Thon commune, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province, the authorities discovered a group of Chinese people intending to illegally exit to China.

Authorities arrested a group of people intending to leave the country illegally.

After arresting and checking the backpacks and belongings of the subjects, they discovered and seized 7 pistols, 3 long guns, 2 grenades, 470 bullets, 2 packages of white powder suspected to be drugs and some other related evidence.

The three arrested subjects include: Truong Dung Cuong (born in 1987, residing in On Thuy district, La Luong city, Son Tay province), Ly Bang Phi (born in 1986, residing in Son Tay city, Son Tay province) and Vuong Dong Dong (born in 1991, residing at No. 213-6, Co Tinh village, Hoang Yet town, Giam Loi district, Hubei province, China).

Lao Cai : Arrest of a case of transporting a large amount of foreign currency across the border

The subjects confessed that Truong Dung Cuong bought the guns and ammunition in Laos, then hired Ly Bang Phi and Vuong Dong Dong to transport them by road across the Laos-Vietnam border to Vietnam to send to China.

Cuong entered Vietnam from Laos via Noi Bai airport and the other subjects arranged to meet in Hanoi and then moved to Cao Bang with the intention of illegally exiting to China.

Initial determination of the above subjects' behavior showed signs of illegal possession of drugs, illegal possession of military weapons, and illegal entry and exit.

Currently, the case is being further investigated and handled by Cao Bang Provincial Police according to the provisions of law.
