On November 4, the results of public opinion polls showed that the race for control of the US House of Representatives after this year's election is fierce and it is too early to predict which party will win the majority of seats.

According to a VNA correspondent in New York, in parallel with the presidential election, on November 5, US voters also voted to re-elect all 435 seats in the House of Representatives representing 435 constituencies in 50 states of the country. In the current 118th House of Representatives, the Republican Party holds a slim majority of 220 seats, the Democratic Party holds 212 seats and there are 3 vacant seats. With Congressman Hakeem Jeffries elected as the minority leader in the House, this will be the first House election since 2002 that the Democratic Party is not led by veteran politician Nancy Pelosi. An analysis report by the non-partisan organization Cook Political shows that the race for control of the House of Representatives between the two parties this year will focus mainly on the states of Maine, Washington, Alaska, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin. US election history shows that the race in the House of Representatives always has the potential for surprises. In 2020, the Democrats were expected to easily expand their majority, but they lost control to the Republicans. According to Sabato's Crystal Ball, a political analysis and election forecasting site, this year will see one of the most closely contested House races in history. Sabato's Crystal Ball editor-in-chief Larry Sabato believes that the Democrats can regain control of the House with a majority of at least 218 seats, with the Republicans having 217 seats. Meanwhile, The Hill/Decision Desk HQ's joint forecast shows that the Republicans have a 52% chance of retaining their majority in the legislature for another term.
According to the Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ) poll, the Republicans have a 70% chance of regaining control of the 119th US Senate from January 2025 with 52 seats compared to 48 seats for the Democrats. The 119th US Congress will take office in early January 2025 before the president-elect takes office on January 20, 2025.
