On September 1, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the closing ceremony of the 3rd Dak Lak Gong Culture Festival in 2024 at Ko Tam Community Eco-tourism Area.
Attending the closing ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh; leaders of relevant departments and branches; artisans, actors of participating troupes and a large audience.
The festival is a meaningful activity held to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024), towards the 120th anniversary of the founding of Dak Lak province (November 22, 1904 - November 22, 2024).

The festival has the participation of about 600 artisans and mass actors from 13 groups from 13 districts, towns and cities in the province, performing traditional gong pieces in rituals and festivals of the Central Highlands ethnic groups, encouraging the combination with xoang dance; performing traditional musical instruments; performing folk songs and dances; introducing excerpts of festivals, traditional cultural activities with special values associated with the Central Highlands Gong Culture. The performances praise the Party, Uncle Ho and the love for the homeland, the tradition of solidarity and indomitable struggle of the ethnic groups in the struggle against foreign invaders, in production labor, building economic life, and current socio-cultural life...
According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, the groups completed the competition content well, giving the audience many good and unique performances and promoting gong culture, receiving enthusiastic support from the people and tourists.
At the end of the Festival, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes and 3 Third Prizes to the delegations with high achievements, in which, the Lak District Artisan Delegation excellently won the First Prize for the whole delegation.
Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thuy Phuong Hieu awarded prizes to outstanding units in the category "Performing traditional gong songs with bronze gongs".
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 5 A prizes, 10 B prizes, and 15 C prizes for the best performances in 5 categories: Performance of traditional gong songs with bronze gongs; Performance of traditional musical instruments combined with gongs; Traditional dance performance combined with gong performance or with accompanying folk festival rituals; Folk song performance; Reenactment of ritual and festival excerpts. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded subsidiary prizes to the oldest artisan, the most excellent artisan, the youngest male artisan, and the youngest female artisan.
The festival is a meaningful and practical activity to continue to replicate typical and core models, clubs and gong teams in all localities, contributing to preserving the cultural heritage of the Vietnamese people, successfully implementing the goals of Resolution 5 of the Central Committee (VIII term) "On building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture with strong national identity" and Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee, XI term on "Building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development".
