Closing ceremony of the 2nd Muong ethnic cultural festival in 2025

On November 24, at the Village of Ethnic Culture and Tourism, the closing ceremony of the 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025 took place.

The Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival is a cultural activity with profound and practical significance, concretizing the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's policies on ethnic affairs, while contributing to effectively implementing the directions of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in preserving, promoting and spreading the fine traditional culture of ethnic minorities, associated with tourism development and building grassroots cultural life.

After three days of bustling atmosphere, full of solidarity and rich in national cultural identity, the 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025 with the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group in the new era" chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism , in coordination with the provinces and cities: Hanoi, Phu Tho, Son La, Lao Cai, Thanh Hoa organized at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, the "common home" of the community of 54 ethnic groups, was a great success. The Art Council unanimously awarded 15 A prizes, 15 B prizes and 10 C prizes for 5 outstanding activities at the Festival.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy awarded certificates of merit to artisans participating in the Festival.

In his closing speech at the Festival, Director of the Department of Culture of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups Trinh Ngoc Chung emphasized that at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, the common home of the community of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups, in the series of events of the Great Solidarity Week - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage in 2025, we have welcomed a meaningful and unique activity, which is the 2nd Muong Ethnic Culture Festival. It can be said that the activities of the Festival have left very good and deep impressions on the people and visitors to the cultural village...

“We believe that the A, B or C awards are just symbolic awards and to distinguish the content of our activities. As for the biggest award, we believe that we join hands to preserve and promote the cultural values ​​of the Muong ethnic group in particular and contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese ethnic group in general. Thereby contributing to the development of the homeland, contributing to the economic and social development of the country, that is the important thing”, Mr. Tran Ngoc Chung shared.

The artisans and mass actors from 5 localities, through the activities, reflected the endogenous strength of the Muong ethnic community through folk songs, the sounds of gongs, drums, flutes, two-string instruments...; through the colors and types of costumes with shaping techniques, functions, aesthetic thinking through motifs, colors, and pattern layouts reflecting the historical depth not only of the Muong people but also of the Vietnamese nation.

At the same time, through traditional handicraft products with diverse types related to eating, living, production labor... associated with materials such as copper, wood, bamboo, stone, plant fibers...; through activities reflecting folk knowledge and through religious activities and festivals reflecting the Muong people's philosophical views on the universe and human life.
