Previously, baby NHQ (2 years old, living in Long Phu district, Soc Trang province) was transferred by his family to Soc Trang Province Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital in a state of crying, abdominal pain, fever and vomiting.
Through testing, doctors found that baby Q's appendix was inflamed, with signs of surrounding fat infiltration and high white blood cell count, so emergency surgery was indicated.
During the surgery, doctors noted a lot of pus and pseudomembrane in the abdomen, mainly concentrated in the right iliac fossa and hypogastric region, and baby Q's appendix was inflamed and had pus.

In addition, doctors also discovered a foreign object in the cecum (about 4cm in size), suspected to be a fish bone that had pierced the cecum. The location of the piercing foreign object showed signs of thickening and inflammation, with many pseudomembranes and pus.
The medical team removed the appendix, removed the foreign object from the cecum, placed a Douglas drain and drained the cecum to the skin. After surgery, Q.'s health is now stable, the surgical wound is dry, his general condition is good, and the drainage tubes have been removed.
