Strengthening human bonds

Between the lands of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan, the bond is forged from the hearts of the people; the ethnic groups share the same mountain range, eating bamboo shoots and drinking from the same river. For millennia, this has crystallized into a profound cultural depth, customs, and community way of life. All of this, like an enduring stream, permeates their very being, nurturing their souls and strengthening their bonds of affection.

Both Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan are regions with diverse ethnic groups, including the Kinh, Tay, Nung, San Diu, Mong, Dao, San Chay, and Hoa. These ethnic groups live together harmoniously, creating a vibrant "flower garden." This "flower garden" stretches from the remote villages of Phia Dam, Slam Ve, and Khau Slom in Bang Thanh to Phu Loi in Trung Thanh ward.

Each ethnic group has its own language, customs, and traditional clothing, but they always share a spirit of national unity. It's not only today, when bridges connecting regions are widened and the idea of collaboration and cooperation is clearly articulated, that people realize the close relationship between Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan .

For a long time, these two regions have shared a common cultural heritage, together nurturing enduring and profound spiritual values, passed down from generation to generation through customs, traditions, and ways of life deeply marked by the mountainous and hilly regions of Northern Vietnam.

For millennia, the people of this region have never been separated by geographical boundaries. The natural living space has led people living in the same area to rely on each other for adaptation and development, forming a shared cultural space and fostering a warm, compassionate way of life.

Everything is naturally present and close to everyday life. From the architecture of houses to the methods of production and lifestyle, everything reflects the rustic and genuine nature of the people in the mountainous midland region. It can be said that the merger of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces is a homecoming of two lands; a reunion of affection for nearly 1.8 million people belonging to 39 ethnic groups at the headwaters of the Cau River, sharing a common source from the Phja Khao mountain range.

Despite nearly 30 years of separation, geographical boundaries have not distanced people's hearts. The customs and traditions of the ethnic groups share many similarities, from rituals related to the human life cycle; customs of filial piety, weddings, housewarming celebrations, and religious activities linked to working life, reflecting the aspiration for harmony between humanity, nature, and the universe.

The sweet melodies and lively folk dances, preserved and passed down through generations, seem to convey people's dreams and aspirations to heaven and earth. They express the bond between people and nature, with their own hearts, and encourage them to overcome the hardships of material life.

The heartfelt reunion of people from the two regions is vividly expressed through community activities. For example, at the highland market or the village festival held at the beginning of spring. Even if some still hesitate about whether they are from Thai Nguyen or Bac Kan, they suddenly recognize each other because they have known each other for a long time, so the conversation flows naturally and sincerely because they already have a shared cultural foundation for understanding and sharing.

After years of separation, the reunion allowed people to fully appreciate the emotional value of being "one family." Through countless social changes, the traditional cultural values of the ethnic groups on this land have been preserved, becoming a strong spiritual foundation, helping successive generations live responsibly towards their homeland and roots.

This reunion and bond is not just a memory; it is also a lasting spiritual foundation that empowers the people of Thai Nguyen today as they move forward into the future. Shared cultural values are inherited, multiplied, and spread throughout daily life, helping today's youth to understand more deeply the cultural roots that have shaped the identity of the land and its people.

From this understanding, a sense of responsibility is naturally formed: the responsibility to preserve, protect, and promote the precious traditional values of the nation, while proactively absorbing new elements to build a modern, harmonious, distinctive, and sustainable cultural life over time.

The Spring of the Year of the Horse 2026 is like a newly opened page, fresh and vibrant with the dazzling pink blossoms that blanket the land. In this springtime atmosphere, the heartfelt reunion of the people of Thai Nguyen's ethnic groups becomes even more meaningful. The spirit of national unity is amplified, creating immense strength and contributing to building a more civilized, happy, and prosperous Thai Nguyen province.
