Apple's latest MacBook Air has the same internal design as the 13-inch version, except for the speaker system and larger battery.
iFixit, a service that specializes in helping users repair electronic devices themselves, said that the 15-inch MacBook Air is similar to the 13-inch model (2022), from the layout of the screws to the clips. The internal hardware is the same as the previous version, but with a better speaker system thanks to the larger size, there is more space.

Previously, when announcing the 15-inch version at the WWDC 2023 event in early June, Apple said the device has a 6-speaker sound system, two more speakers than the 13-inch version, for twice as good bass. The device also supports Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos.
Despite the large battery, the battery life of both models is the same. The downside of the new product is that it is very difficult to repair. iFixit gave the 15-inch MacBook Air a 3 out of 10 on its repairability scale due to its complex structure, with components stacked on top of each other like a “maze”, making removing the battery and circuit board quite a challenge. The battery of the 13-inch version is even easier to remove than the 15-inch version thanks to the battery cells using adhesive tape.
The battery on the 15-inch MacBook Air has four 66.5 Wh cells, which are supposed to make fast charging work efficiently because all four are charged at the same time. Additionally, there is only one NAND memory chip for the 256 GB version, so the read and write speeds will be slower than the 512 GB, 1 TB, or 2 TB models. The product also cannot upgrade the RAM and internal storage.
The advantage of the 15-inch MacBook Air is that the screen and touchpad are larger than the 13-inch version, and the performance of both is similar when using the M2 chip.
