Accordingly, the pregnant woman is a Kenyan national and a United Nations employee in Mayen Abun, South Sudan.
It is known that she has been pregnant 6 times, carrying twins with 2 placentas, 2 amniotic sacs, and is expected to give birth prematurely.
The hospital determined this was an extremely premature birth. If the mother went into labor, it would be life-threatening for both mother and fetus.
Due to limited medical conditions and difficult travel in Mayen Abun, the regional hospital requested emergency medical transport support, taking the patient to a higher-level medical facility to ensure life safety by air.
Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6 was requested to participate in the emergency air medical evacuation plan with two consecutive flights.

Before air transport, hospital doctors conducted a comprehensive assessment, performed necessary medical procedures to stabilize vital signs and ensure safety during the entire journey.
The hospital then immediately dispatched an emergency team consisting of an Air Ambulance (AME) team doctor and an obstetrician to the Mayen Abun area by helicopter.
During the flight, the patient is closely monitored and prepared for emergency situations, the emergency team is even prepared to deliver the baby on the plane if needed.
After completing the flight from Mayen Abun to Rubkona airport, the air ambulance team of Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6 promptly handed over the patient to the emergency team of the upper-level hospital.
The patient was then transferred to another flight, continuing his journey to the capital Juba, where there are more modern medical facilities for treatment.
With accurate medical assessments, thorough preparation and coordination between the emergency teams and two flights, the patient was safely transported to a referral hospital in Juba.

This success is not only a source of pride for the medical team at the Vietnam Level 2 field hospital, but also demonstrates the professional capacity and high sense of responsibility of Vietnamese medical staff when performing international missions.
The event demonstrated the capabilities of emergency medical rescue and air medical transport and also marked the professional coordination between Vietnamese medical teams at the United Nations peacekeeping mission and units from other countries.
The successful transport contributed to highlighting Vietnam's image in its international role, while affirming the prestige of Vietnam's peacekeeping force at the United Nations peacekeeping mission.
