K Hospital and ASCO expand cooperation in training, research and exchange in the field of cancer

On January 7, K Hospital welcomed a delegation from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Asia-Pacific Region to visit and work on the occasion of the first ASCO Regional Council meeting held in Vietnam.

Over the years, K Hospital and ASCO have established and maintained an extensive cooperative relationship in training, research and updating professional knowledge for the medical team. Typically, the event “Best of ASCO 2024” held for the first time in Hanoi attracted thousands of domestic and foreign experts, affirming Vietnam’s increasingly enhanced position on the regional and world cancer cooperation map.

This visit and working session is an opportunity for the two sides to exchange experiences, share visions and development orientations in cancer treatment, and affirm Vietnam's increasingly important role in the global cancer cooperation network.

Professor, Dr. Le Van Quang, Director of K Hospital, affirmed: International cooperation is always one of the key tasks to improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment. K Hospital appreciates the cooperative relationship with ASCO and wishes to continue to expand joint activities, bringing practical benefits to cancer patients in Vietnam.

Professor, Dr. Eishi Baba (Kyushu University, Japan), Chairman of the ASCO Asia -Pacific Regional Council, shared: "We are honored to host the Council meeting in Hanoi and sincerely thank K Hospital for the warm welcome. K Hospital is a leading cancer center in Vietnam with many outstanding contributions. This meeting opens up opportunities for deeper cooperation in research, clinical trials and training, aiming to improve the quality of treatment and improve the quality of life for cancer patients in the region ."

Ms. Morgan Dean, Director of ASCO Regional Councils and International Membership, expressed her hope to continue accompanying K Hospital in research programs, training and professional capacity development for the medical team.

In the coming time, K Hospital and ASCO will continue to expand cooperation in training, research and academic exchange. The two sides agreed to maintain the “Best of ASCO” program in the following years, while implementing specialized training courses and promoting the connection of cancer expert networks in the region and internationally. These collaborations demonstrate a shared commitment to improving cancer treatment capacity and improving the quality of life for patients in Vietnam and the Asia- Pacific region.
