Provincial Social Insurance: Implementing the cost estimate for medical examination and treatment for Health Insurance

– On August 16, the provincial Social Insurance organized a conference to deploy the implementation of the cost estimate for health insurance examination and treatment (HI) according to Decision No. 877/QD-TTg, dated July 20, 2023 of the Prime Minister on the allocation of the budget for health insurance examination and treatment in 2023.

Attending the conference were leaders of the provincial Social Insurance; Department of Health; leaders and professional departments of medical facilities; leaders of social insurance in districts and officials working in appraisal of the social insurance sector in Lang Son .

According to Decision No. 877/QD-TTg, Lang Son province was assigned VND 569.99 billion for health insurance expenditure. To implement Decision No. 877, the Provincial People's Committee issued a document directing the implementation of the health insurance expenditure estimate for 2023 and assigned specific tasks to the Provincial Social Insurance, the Department of Health, the Department of Finance, and the People's Committees of districts and cities to ensure effective implementation of the health insurance expenditure estimate for 2023.
According to the report assessing the health insurance expenditure situation in the first 7 months of 2023, the number of health insurance visits was 591,925, an increase of 24.8%; the health insurance expenditure was over 340 billion VND, an increase of 24.5% over the same period in 2022.

To ensure the estimated expenditure for health insurance in 2023, the delegates attending the conference focused on discussing a number of issues surrounding the implementation of health insurance in the province such as: the reasons for the increase in the number of visits and expenditures for health insurance in the province; the sending of data not on time and the data structure according to regulations of health insurance facilities; difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of health insurance; the organization of the implementation of assigned targets and plans in health insurance in health insurance facilities, the reduction in the rate of health insurance in non-public clinics, etc.

At the conference, representatives of the two sectors' leaders received opinions, answered and guided opinions within their authority.
