On the evening of April 12, within the framework of round 18 of V-League 2024 - 2025, Thanh Hoa Club was held to a 1-1 draw by Song Lam Nghe An right at home.

At the beginning of the match, the Nghe An team unexpectedly scored an early goal in the 3rd minute. Midfielder Ho Khac Ngoc received a pass from his teammate and fired a beautiful shot past goalkeeper Xuan Hoang.

The match was postponed for more than 20 minutes in the 10th minute due to heavy rain.

After referee Nguyen Trung Kien resumed the match, Thanh Hoa FC tried to push up their formation to find an equalizer. However, the wet pitch prevented both teams from playing well.

Entering the second half, Thanh Hoa Club still took the initiative, diligently searching for a goal and was rewarded in the 63rd minute. After a chaotic ball in the penalty area, Ribamar seized the opportunity to shoot into the net of the Nghe An team.

In the remaining minutes, the match was balanced. In the end, Song Lam Nghe An maintained the draw on Thanh Hoa FC's field, thereby gaining valuable points for the relegation race.

Meanwhile, Thanh Hoa FC has gone 13 consecutive matches without a win, despite appointing new head coach Tomislav Steinbruckner. Their poor form is causing them to drift further away from the race for the championship.
