50 years after liberation, Binh Phuoc, a land devastated by fierce war, has risen to assert itself with a continuous growth rate leading the Southeast region, becoming an "attractive destination" for domestic and foreign investors. Above all, Binh Phuoc is gradually creating a mark of "harmony, humanity, self-reliance, discipline, creativity", raising the aspiration to enter a new era - the era of national development.
According to the History of the Party Committee of Binh Phuoc Province, during the fierce, arduous and sacrificial "local war", the Party Committee and people of Binh Phuoc always maintained their faith in the Party's leadership, determined to defeat the American invaders, made great efforts to build up both military and political forces, together with the army and people of the Southeast and the whole South, maintained the offensive position and continuously attacked, contributing to breaking the two pincers of "search and destroy" and "pacification", defeating the two strategic counter-attacks of the dry season of the US - puppet.
1969 and the first months of 1970 were the most fierce and difficult periods for the Southern revolution, but this was also the period when the army and people of Binh Phuoc demonstrated their revolutionary spirit, bravery, and resilience in overcoming all difficulties and challenges, holding on to the battlefield, continuing to attack the enemy, maintaining the base, restoring the movement, and gradually creating momentum and strength to develop the revolutionary struggle movement. Together with the main force, the army and people of Binh Phuoc participated in the Nguyen Hue Campaign in the summer of 1972, liberating the districts of Loc Ninh, Bu Dop, Bu Gia Map and each strategic hamlet, expanding the base area connecting to the Cambodian border to become the direct rear of the B2 battlefield, contributing to forcing the US to accept defeat at the Paris Conference table.

During the 1974-1975 Winter-Spring campaign, with support from the Central and the Region, the army and people of Binh Phuoc attacked and completely liberated Bu Dang district on December 14, 1974, liberated Dong Xoai on December 26, 1974, and on January 6, 1975, liberated Phuoc Long provincial capital. The Phuoc Long victory was a strategic reconnaissance move, creating the premise for the Politburo and the Party Central Committee to determine to completely liberate the South as soon as possible. Promoting the victory, we continued to consolidate the liberated area, at the same time surrounded and destroyed the An Loc (Binh Long) stronghold cluster. Realizing that there was no possibility of rescuing each other and knowing the risk of being destroyed, on March 23, 1975, the enemy retreated to Chon Thanh, the center of An Loc provincial capital, and Binh Long province was liberated. On April 2, 1975, Chon Thanh district was the last locality of Binh Long province to be liberated, contributing with the army and people of the southern provinces and the main army corps to liberate Saigon on April 30, 1975, completely completing the cause of national liberation and national reunification.
On April 15, 2015, Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee held a conference to collect opinions from historical witnesses, scientists and generations of provincial leaders to determine the Liberation Day of Binh Phuoc Province. From all opinions at the conference, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee studied and discussed seriously with an objective, scientific and responsible spirit towards history. The Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee unanimously chose March 23, 1975 - Liberation Day of An Loc District (administrative center of Binh Long Province) as the Liberation Day of Binh Phuoc Province.

Associate Professor Dr. Ha Minh Hong, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University analyzed: Binh Phuoc at that time consisted of two provinces, Phuoc Long and Binh Long. Phuoc Long province was liberated on January 6, 1975, Binh Long province was liberated on March 23, 1975. If we choose January 6 as the day of liberation of Binh Phuoc province, we can only say that Phuoc Long was liberated, while most of the large Binh Phuoc province was not liberated. But on March 23, 1975, An Loc sub-region was attacked, the provincial governor, all military and police apparatus in An Loc (Binh Long) completely collapsed, Binh Long province was liberated, a few held out in Chon Thanh. By March 23, 1975, Binh Phuoc province was basically completely liberated. That is the reason why March 23 was chosen as the day of liberation of Binh Phuoc province in the resistance war against the US to save the country.
After Binh Phuoc was liberated, the economy as well as the intellectual level of the whole province were extremely low, there was almost no industry, small-scale handicraft production was fragmented; infrastructure was poor; agricultural production and livestock development were scattered. In the province, there were still remnants of the puppet army; Fulro forces, supported by exiled reactionary organizations, were actively operating, plotting to overthrow the young people's government. Under the strong leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the government, and the solidarity of the people, over the past 50 years, Binh Phuoc has left a deep mark in the economic, political, cultural, national defense and security aspects.
From 1977 to 1979, in the context of newly restored peace, the army and people of Binh Phuoc fought to repel the war, protect the southwestern border and fulfill their noble international duty, helping the Cambodian people escape the Pol Pot genocide. Colonel Nguyen Chi Cuong, former member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and former Director of the Provincial Police Department, said: After liberation, in Binh Phuoc, organizations that greatly affected political security emerged, namely the National Restoration Front and Fulro in ethnic minority areas. Under the leadership of the Party Committee and authorities at all levels, the police force coordinated with the military and related forces and the people to raise vigilance, continuously attack and sweep the enemy, and destroy many reactionary armed political organizations, including organized gangs. The provincial armed forces stepped up attacks on Fulro remnants in the areas of Phuoc Long, Binh Long, and Dong Phu. By the end of 1979, the Fulro force was almost destroyed.
A strong impression in the hearts of Binh Phuoc people is the re-establishment of the province on January 1, 1997. Continuously developing, Binh Phuoc has been in the group of localities with a budget revenue of 10 trillion VND (in 2020), and in 2022 alone, for the first time, it reached nearly 14,300 billion VND. In recent years, Binh Phuoc province's economic growth has always been high, ranking first in the Southeast region for many consecutive years. In 2024, growth reached 9.32%, ranking 11th in the country and leading the region for the second consecutive year. GRDP per capita reached 108.4 million VND.

Reaching beyond national borders, Binh Phuoc province won the "Outstanding Digital Government Building" award from the Asia-Oceania Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO). In particular, the Binh Phuoc Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, was announced on December 14, 2024, setting the goal of turning Binh Phuoc into an industrial, modern province, an attractive destination in the Southeast region.
