Peace from simple things

Until now, I still remember clearly the summer afternoons of my childhood, when the wind began to carry the scent of moist soil mixed with the sweet scent of flowers. Looking up at the deep blue sky, I felt that the whole world had reserved a peaceful corner for me - a place where I could breathe deeply and forget all the noise and hustle and bustle of life.

My house is big, the garden is green all year round with many kinds of fruit trees. I often follow my grandfather to the garden to pick guava. Every time he gives me ripe red guavas, he gently says: "These guavas are gifts from mother earth, you must cherish them, my child". The guavas have nourished my body and soul so that I can learn to be grateful, appreciate and love this life more. I still remember the early mornings when I followed my mother to the small river near my house. The sound of the water trickling through each rock, resounding like a gentle melody, lulling all the worries in my heart to disappear. At that moment, my heart became light.

When summer comes, I often like to sit quietly under the old royal poinciana tree, picking up the red flowers that have fallen all over the yard. Each petal is like a piece of memory, telling the story of the brilliant summers, the sudden rains that once soothed people's hearts. There were times when it suddenly rained, I took shelter under the shade of the old banyan tree, letting each drop of rain fall on my shoulder, letting the cool , moist smell of the earth spread through the air. At that time, I felt the gentle comfort of nature. That feeling was strangely peaceful!

Now, despite my busy and hectic life, I still try to maintain the simple habits that I have had since childhood. I plant a few more pots of green trees in the yard, do not litter, and often invite the children in the neighborhood to go to the park to pick up trash. These are small things but help keep the living space clean. Nature is a wordless teacher for me, teaching me about patience, about the endless cycle of life, about how to accept and cherish every passing moment. Nature is also a soul mate, silently listening, willing to soothe me whenever I am tired. And I understand that preserving nature is also preserving peace in my heart./.
