Yen Phuc Commune, Van Quan District has a natural area of ​​nearly 28km², with National Highway 279 and Provincial Road 240 passing through. The whole commune has 1,149 households, with nearly 5,200 people, living in 9 villages. Previously, the security and order situation in the commune had many complicated factors. The reason was partly due to the limited awareness of law enforcement among the people, the area had many drug addicts, released prisoners, suspended sentences... In addition, because the commune police force was still thin, it somewhat affected the implementation of all aspects of work, especially the fight against crime.

- When implementing the policy of not organizing district-level police (from March 1, 2025), commune-level police in the province will be strengthened to ensure their key role in security and order at the grassroots level, especially in the fight against crime, social evils, and protecting the peaceful life of the people. Since implementing the policy of not organizing district-level police, Yen Phuc Commune Police have been strengthened in terms of force, means, as well as tasks and powers. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Nghi, Head of Commune Police, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of Steering Committee 138 of Yen Phuc Commune, said: When the force was strengthened, the unit's patrol work in the area was deployed more closely and widely. The unit has also arranged reasonable forces and means in performing tasks; closely coordinated with professional departments of the Provincial Police in grasping the situation, exchanging information, handling complicated cases... Thereby, achieving many outstanding achievements in the fight against crime.

From March 1, 2025 to present, Yen Phuc Commune Police have solved 3 cases, arrested 13 subjects for illegal possession of drugs, illegal possession of military weapons, and gambling.

Typically, at 1:15 a.m. on April 13, 2025, while on patrol duty in Bac village, the Yen Phuc Commune Police working group discovered and caught red-handed at the house of Mr. Trieu Van Thong, born in 1980, a group of 10 subjects gambling in the form of Lieng. The subjects have permanent residences in many different locations in the district and outside the province. Checking the gambling mat and on the subjects, the working group discovered and seized more than 31.7 million VND, which the subjects used for gambling purposes; 1 deck of playing cards, 10 mobile phones, 5 motorbikes and other related evidence. After clarifying the subjects' behavior, the unit reported to the Provincial Police leadership, proposing to transfer the case to the Investigation Police Agency, Provincial Police for investigation and handling according to authority.

At the same time, there are currently 12 drug addicts in the commune, 5 people under post-rehabilitation management; 15 released prisoners, 3 people with suspended sentences. These cases are strictly managed by the unit and regularly called, warned, checked, checked, and prevented from re-offending and violating the law.

On the other hand, since taking on additional tasks and powers, Yen Phuc Commune Police have implemented activities to ensure smooth, stable and effective operations. From March 1st to now, the unit has received and processed many administrative procedures for citizens such as: issuing registration for 45 road vehicles; issuing 565 confirmations of residence information, processing 63 permanent registration procedures, 56 temporary residence cases...

The Commune Police also advised the Commune People's Committee to maintain many models of security and order in villages such as: "Residential areas for crime prevention and social evils", "Cameras to ensure security"... The unit has promoted the dissemination of law to people towards residential areas; the form and content have been innovated to ensure suitability for each subject and locality, bringing positive results. Thereby, raising awareness and sense of law observance of the people, people actively participate in maintaining security and order, fighting and denouncing crimes.

Recognizing the achievements of Yen Phuc Commune Police, in May 2025, the Director of the Provincial Police, Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Quan district awarded 2 certificates of merit to the collective and 7 certificates of merit to individuals of Yen Phuc Commune Police for their outstanding achievements in the fight against crime, maintaining peace for the people from the grassroots level.
