The new BMW X3 and 5-Series 2025 have been scheduled to launch in Vietnam. The X3 2025 SUV model still uses the old chassis with the wheelbase remaining at 2,865 mm. However, the overall size of the car has been adjusted to be slightly larger, increasing the feeling of grandeur. The X3's appearance has been completely refreshed with sharper LED headlights, a larger, illuminated grille, redesigned side windows, front and rear bumpers and alloy wheels. Even the standard version is equipped with 19-inch wheels, giving it a more modern and dynamic image.
The car's interior has many similarities with the 2025 3-Series that has just been brought to Vietnam, including a new 2-spoke steering wheel, a large curved screen cluster integrated with the BMW OS9 operating system, a minimalist design of physical buttons, and a delicately reduced gear lever cluster. In terms of performance, the new BMW X3 is expected to be equipped with a 2.0L turbocharged engine combined with mild hybrid technology (MHEV). The standard xDrive20 version produces about 190 horsepower, while the more powerful xDrive30 version can reach 255 horsepower, similar to the European versions. In particular, the new generation X3 will be equipped with a driver assistance technology package (ADAS) with features such as: blind spot warning, adaptive cruise control and 360-degree camera... These are the first features appearing on the X3 in Vietnam. With significant upgrades in design, technology and safety, the new BMW X3 is expected to have a higher price than the current version, which has a starting price of more than 1.8 billion VND.
The new 2025 BMW 5-Series is also expected to launch at the same time as the BMW X3. It is likely that the model will have an i5 pure electric variant in addition to the internal combustion engine versions. Accordingly, the standard BMW i5 version will be equipped with an electric motor with a capacity of 335 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. If distributed in Vietnam, this will be BMW's third electric car model after the i4 and i7, expanding the choice of zero-emission luxury cars for consumers. In terms of design, the new 5-Series is built on the new CLAR chassis platform. The car is 86 mm longer than the old version, reaching 5,060 mm and has a 20 mm longer wheelbase, providing more spacious space for the cabin. The exterior of the car has also been tweaked to look sportier , with bold lines, a larger grille and large, separate LED headlights. The rear of the car has slim LED taillights, and traditional chrome details have been replaced with black cladding for a modern look.
The 5-Series interior has been completely redesigned in the style of the 7-Series. The car is equipped with a new flat-bottom steering wheel, a curved screen cluster connecting a 12.3-inch dashboard and a 14.9-inch touch screen entertainment screen running the iDrive 8.5 operating system. The traditional gear lever is replaced by a toggle switch, the panoramic sunroof is available for the first time on this model, combined with a sophisticated hidden interior lighting system. In terms of power, the BMW 5-Series will still have many versions and many engine configurations. For reference in the US market, the standard 520i version will be equipped with a 2.0L engine with a capacity of 188 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 520i version in the European market is equipped with a 2.0L mild hybrid engine, 205 horsepower, 330 Nm torque. The 530i version is equipped with a 2.0L mild hybrid engine, 255 horsepower, 400 Nm torque. It is likely that the 520i and 530i versions will be sold in Vietnam.
