Speaking at the meeting, Director of the Department of Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment Pham Tuan Anh requested that hydropower projects in the Central region strictly comply with the operating procedures of inter-reservoirs and single hydropower reservoirs approved by competent authorities, and prioritize flood prevention capacity for downstream areas, especially when unusual situations arise.
In addition, scientific operation ensures absolute safety for the project, prevents artificial flooding, contributes to reducing flooding downstream, and must pay attention to informing people early before operating flood regulation.

The Head of the Inspection Team requested to strictly comply with the operating orders of the competent authority, closely monitor meteorological and hydrological forecast information, and forecast the amount of water flowing into the lake to strengthen operational coordination.
For hydropower projects with flood prevention capacity and current reservoir water levels at high levels, the Head of the Inspection Team requested absolute compliance with the operating orders of competent authorities, and close monitoring of hydrometeorological forecast information and reservoir water volume forecasts to strengthen operational coordination.
At the same time, immediately report to the Head of the Provincial Civil Defense Command and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to promptly adjust the water discharge regulation regime in accordance with the actual hydrological situation, prioritize flood prevention capacity for downstream areas, and promptly report to competent authorities when unusual situations occur.

Providing additional information at the meeting, Director Pham Tuan Anh said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to organize inspection teams for natural disaster prevention and control, ensuring the safety of dams and hydroelectric reservoirs in the Central provinces to promptly direct units to operate flexibly, prioritize flood reception capacity to cut and minimize flooding for downstream areas during the rain caused by storm No. 13 and storm circulation.
