Implementing the Prime Minister's direction in the dispatches to respond to heavy rains in the Central region and storm No. 13, the Minister of Industry and Trade established an inspection team led by the Director of the Department of Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment Pham Tuan Anh to inspect the work of responding to natural disasters and operating hydroelectric reservoirs at a number of hydroelectric projects in Da Nang and Hue.

On the morning of November 5, the Inspection Team of the Ministry of Industry and Trade worked with the Song Tranh 2 Hydropower Plant. Here, the Head of the Inspection Team requested dam owners to strictly comply with the approved single reservoir and inter-reservoir operation procedures; strictly implement the instructions and operating orders of competent authorities.

At the same time, closely monitor the rain and water flow to the reservoir to promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee Chairmen to allow adjustment of water discharge, gradually lower the reservoir water level, prioritize flood reception capacity, reduce flooding for downstream areas; fully prepare equipment to respond to unsafe situations of dams and reservoirs.

Previously, in the dispatches of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry also requested the owners of hydropower dams in the Central region to strictly comply with the operating procedures of inter-reservoirs and single hydropower reservoirs approved by competent authorities, giving priority to flood prevention capacity for downstream areas, especially when unusual situations occur; operate scientifically , ensure absolute safety for the works, prevent artificial floods, contribute to flood reduction for downstream areas, in which it is necessary to pay attention to notify people early before operating flood regulation.

For hydropower projects with flood prevention capacity and current reservoir water level at high level (Ban Ve, Ho Ho, Huong Dien, Binh Dien, Song Bung 4, Dak Mi 4, A Vuong, Song Tranh 2, Dakdrinh...), absolutely comply with the operating orders of competent authorities, closely monitor hydrometeorological forecast information, forecast water volume to the reservoir to strengthen operational coordination, immediately report to the Head of the Provincial Civil Defense Command, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to promptly adjust the water discharge regulation regime in accordance with the actual hydrological situation, prioritize flood prevention capacity for downstream, promptly report to competent authorities when unusual situations occur.

At the same time, deploy measures to ensure the safety of dams, reservoirs and downstream dams; arrange permanent forces to operate and regulate reservoirs and be ready to handle possible situations.

In addition, regularly check and evaluate the operating status of equipment, flood discharge works, water intake gates... and promptly fix defects (if any); prepare adequate resources, equipment, means, and spare materials to promptly fix incidents and damages caused by natural disasters in the fastest time.
