Providing information on the production and business results of the Agriculture and Environment sector in the first 10 months of 2025 at a press conference held on the morning of November 5, 2025, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien said that the export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in October 2025 is estimated at 5.96 billion USD, an increase of 6.3% over the same period in October 2024. In the first 10 months of 2025, the total export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached 58.13 billion USD, an increase of 12.9% over the same period in 2024.

Of which, the export value of agricultural products reached 31.34 billion USD, up 15.5%; livestock products reached 512.9 million USD, up 19%; aquatic products reached 9.31 billion USD, up 12.9%; forestry products reached 14.93 billion USD, up 5.8%; input exports for production reached 2.03 billion USD, up 31.9%; salt exports reached 9.5 million USD, double the same period.

According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in terms of territory, Asia is the largest export market with a proportion of 44.7% of the total export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products of Vietnam in the past 10 months. The next two markets are America and Europe, with market shares of 22.7% and 13.8% respectively. Africa accounts for 3% and Oceania accounts for 1.4%.

Compared to the same period in 2024, export turnover to Asia increased by 4.9%; to America increased by 8.3%; to Europe increased by 37.5%; to Africa increased by 83.6%; and to Oceania increased by 6.8%.

Saigon Entrepreneur Magazine reported: " Rice export prices have dropped sharply, with 10-month turnover reaching 3.7 billion USD."

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in the first 10 months of 2025, Vietnam exported 7.2 million tons of rice, reaching 3.7 billion USD, down 6.5% in volume and 23.8% in value compared to the same period in 2024. In October 2025 alone, the amount of exported rice is estimated at 421,100 tons, equivalent to 216.9 million USD. The average export price of rice in the past 10 months reached 511 USD/ton, down 18.5% compared to the same period last year.

The Philippines continues to be Vietnam’s largest rice consumer, accounting for 41.4% of the market share. Two other important markets are Ghana (12.3%) and Ivory Coast (11.3%). However, exports to the Philippines fell sharply by 27.1%, while Ghana increased by 47.3% and Ivory Coast by nearly 94.5%.

Notably, Bangladesh recorded a sharp increase, 155 times higher than the same period last year, while Malaysia saw the sharpest decrease, up to 53.3%. These fluctuations show that the structure of Vietnam's rice market is expanding to Africa and South Asia to compensate for the decline in traditional regions.

Despite the decrease in rice exports, Vietnam's total agricultural, forestry and fishery (AFF) export turnover in the first 10 months of 2025 still reached 58.13 billion USD, up 12.9% over the same period in 2024. Of which, main agricultural products reached 31.34 billion USD (up 15.5%), aquatic products reached 9.31 billion USD (up 12.9%), forestry products reached 14.93 billion USD (up 5.8%), livestock products reached 512.9 million USD (up 19%) and production inputs reached 2.03 billion USD (up 31.9%).

By market region, Asia remains Vietnam's main export region, accounting for 44.7%, followed by the Americas (22.7%) and Europe (13.8%). Of which, China, the US and Japan are the three largest export markets, accounting for 21.4%, 20.4% and 7% respectively.
