According to Decree 24, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) is assigned by the Government to organize the production of gold bars. SBV authorizes SJC Company to process gold bars for SBV and reprocess SJC gold bars that do not meet circulation standards.

Currently, there is still a certain amount of SJC gold bars circulating on the market, including products that are scratched, deformed or have additional marks and symbols that are not from SJC.

To handle this amount of gold bars, the draft amendment to Decree 24 has added transitional provisions in Clause 2, Article 3.

Accordingly, SJC Company is allowed to continue to reprocess gold bars that SJC itself produced and processed before the revised decree took effect, provided that the product has at least one of the following characteristics: scratches, deformation or additional markings not belonging to SJC.

SJC Company is fully responsible before the law for ensuring that the processed SJC gold bars are gold bars produced and processed by SJC Company in accordance with the law.

After the inspection, the State Bank proposed to require bank transfers for gold purchases and sales of 20 million VND or more.
