At the reception, Director Pham Binh Dam congratulated Ms. Nasly Isabel Bernal Prado on her new responsibility; he believed that during her term in Vietnam, Ambassador Nasly Isabel Bernal Prado would promote her role as a bridge, contributing to strengthening and deepening the traditional friendship between the two countries.
The Director expressed his delight at the positive developments in bilateral relations. The two sides shared the need to increase delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels, especially in 2026 on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (March 25, 1971 - March 25, 2026).
Director Pham Binh Dam emphasized that the Vietnam-Chile relationship has always maintained a foundation of friendship and mutual trust; cooperation in many fields such as politics - diplomacy, economics, trade, education, and culture has achieved many positive results. Vietnam wishes to continue to exploit the potential with Chile, expand cooperation in areas of both sides' strengths and needs, especially trade, tourism, agriculture, renewable energy, as well as strengthen coordination and mutual support at international forums.
Ambassador Nasly Isabel Bernal Prado expressed her honor to be appointed as Ambassador to Vietnam; highly appreciated the socio -economic development achievements, the increasing position and role of Vietnam in the international arena.
The Ambassador affirmed that he will do his best to contribute to developing the friendly and cooperative relationship between Chile and Vietnam in a practical and effective manner, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Ambassador Nasly Isabel Bernal Prado is a career diplomat who began her career at the Middle East and Africa Department of the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999. There she held positions such as Permanent Mission of Chile in New York (2017-2020); Consul General of Chile in Australia (2021-2025).
