According to data from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, only 61% of students taking the entrance exam to public grade 10 have a place in a public school. The 10th grade entrance exam for public schools in Hanoi for the 2024-2025 school year will take place on June 8 and 9, 2024 at more than 200 testing sites. There are areas where the quality of education between public schools is large, so there are still quotas left but many students do not apply. This leads to the heat of 10th grade enrollment in Hanoi being pushed up very high in some areas, although the Hanoi Department of Education and Training affirms that "there is no shortage of places to study".
