Minister sends telegram on proactive response to floods and storms, ready to prepare for exams

NDO - On May 26, the Minister of Education and Training sent an official dispatch to the Directors of the Departments of Education and Training of 19 northern provinces and cities, requesting them to proactively respond to the risks of landslides, flash floods, and inundation, ensuring the safety of students, teachers, and school facilities.

Telegram No. 640/CD-BGDĐT of the Ministerof Education and Training sent to the Directors of the Departments of Education and Training: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh, Son La, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Hanoi clearly stated: In recent days, in the North, there have been many thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, heavy rains causing flooding, landslides, and damage to people's lives and property.

It is forecasted that in the coming days, rain will continue to occur with high intensity locally, causing flash floods, landslides, and inundation.

To proactively respond to floods and minimize damage to people and property in the education sector, the Minister of Education and Training requested the Departments of Education and Training in areas affected by the above weather developments to strictly implement a number of contents.

Firstly, closely monitor the development of floods and rains; maintain regular contact with authorities and local rescue forces to promptly respond in case of incidents.

Second, make plans to move files, documents, machinery, equipment, tables and chairs to a safe place to avoid damage. Absolutely do not organize summer activities, especially in places at risk of landslides, flash floods, or inundation.

Third, urgently clean and sanitize schools and classrooms immediately after the flood ends, ensuring safety and cleanliness to prepare for the 10th grade entrance exam and the 2025 high school graduation exam.

Fourth, summarize the damage, develop a remedial plan, promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee for remediation, and at the same time report to the Ministry of Education and Training .
