Awarded with five De Men Aspiration Awards, musician Pham Tuyen is the 2025 De Men Knight

NDO - On the afternoon of May 28, the 6th De Men Children's Awards Ceremony 2025 was held by the Sports and Culture Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency) at the National News Center (Hanoi). This year, the De Men Knight Award was presented to musician Pham Tuyen for his outstanding contributions and dedication to creating a legacy of more than 200 children's songs.

The 6th De Men Children's Award 2025 was launched on March 14, reviewing and evaluating 97 outstanding children's works composed and completed during the period of 2024-2025. A new feature of this year's award season is that for the first time there is an Inspirational Ambassador, played by musician Nguyen Van Chung.

The jury is chaired by poet Tran Dang Khoa, Vice President of the Vietnam Writers Association; with members including painter Thanh Chuong, Associate Professor-PhD Ngo Van Gia, poet Nguyen Tien Thanh, journalist Nguyen Thien Thuat; and a standing committee with such faces as poet Huynh Trong Khang, journalist Nguyen Thanh Binh, lecturer Nguyen Hoang Duong, poet Yen Khuong, curator Ha Van Bay... The VietnamEducation Publishing House sponsors the award.

Literature, poetry, music... works entered the final round of the 2025 Cricket Awards.

As a result, the 5 prizes of the Cricket Aspiration Award of the 2025 season were awarded to the following works: A series of paintings by artist Pham Hai Nguyen (13 years old); "There is a flat Earth in my eyes" (manuscript of a poetry collection by Ly Thang Long); "The ancient book of a goddess" (story by Nguyen Hoang Dieu Thuy, Kim Dong Publishing House), Two books of stories by Dy Duyen: "From the vegetable fields on Cuc Cu farm" (Dom Dom painted, Kim Dong Publishing House) and "The things you use to fill a hole" (Thanh Vu painted, Kim Dong Publishing House); "The farm at the end of the forest" (story by Pham Cong Luan, Kim Dong Publishing House).

Representatives of the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the authors of the 3 stories that received the Cricket Aspiration Award. All 3 books were published by Kim Dong Publishing House.

Chairman of the Jury Board Tran Dang Khoa shared his happiness and honor to have accompanied the De Men Awards for many years.

He said that this year's award is "very beautiful" when it recognizes all genres: short stories, novels, comics, music , paintings... "The works are all attractive, lively and profound, and I believe that in the future, these works will not only reach the jury, but will also continue to reach children and have a long-lasting vitality.", poet Tran Dang Khoa emphasized.

Author Ly Thang Long received the award with the manuscript of the poetry collection "There is a flat Earth in your eyes".

Author Ly Thang Long (born in 2000) is a member of the Literature Committee, Dong Nai Province Literature and Arts Association. He is currently a soldier of the Information Company, Dong Nai Province Military Command, Military Region 7.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Van Gia, a member of the Jury, this collection of poems has the mark of combining an innocent look with the ability to evoke deep thoughts. This is a type of poetry written for young adults. With a poetic voice that is both gentle and courageous, the collection of poems touches on big issues such as war, the environment, technology, love and difference, but always maintains a natural and symbolic way of expression.

In the series of paintings that won the De Men Aspiration Award, young artist Pham Hai Nguyen (from Lang Son) soon revealed his profound worldview on events happening in life around him, along with his artistic talent through each stroke and color block. Interestingly, Nguyen is a friend of young artist Hoang Nhat Quang, who was awarded the De Men Aspiration Award at the 4th De Men Children's Award - 2023.

The Cricket Knight Award was given to musician Pham Tuyen for dedicating his life and career to children with timeless musical works, including the book "Back to the Home - The Children's Nursery Rhyme" (co-authored by Pham Hong Tuyen), which was a finalist this year. "Back to the Home - The Children's Nursery Rhyme" was chosen to be presented in the form of a multimedia book, combining storytelling, music, illustrations and QR codes for listening to music and storytelling - creating a rich and engaging continuous experience for children.

Musician Pham Tuyen (born in 1930) is one of the great names in modern Vietnamese music. Of the more than 700 songs that have left a deep mark on Vietnamese music, musician Pham Tuyen has written more than 200 songs for children. His songs such as "Chiec den ong sao", "Canh an tuoi tho", "Truong toi la truong non", "Chu voi con o Ban Don", "Tien len doan vien" ... have become classic children's songs of Vietnamese music, living forever in the memories of many generations. In 2013, he set the record "Musician who composed the most widely popular children's songs" recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization.
