Minister Tran Duc Thang visits the research center of the Agricultural Academy

On November 14, Minister Tran Duc Thang attended the Conference "Promoting breakthroughs in scientific and technological research and innovation associated with training of institutes and schools" and visited research centers of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture .

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, Director of Vietnam National Academy of Agriculture, introduced to Minister Tran Duc Thang the history of Vietnam National Academy of Agriculture.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, Party Secretary and Director of the Academy of Agriculture, said: As the leading training and research institution in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in Vietnam, the Academy is constantly autonomous and creative to always be at the forefront of training, research and serving society.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan said that after 69 years of construction and development, the Academy has had strong development in training, the number of annual enrollments has reached and exceeded the set target, and the scale of training at all levels has increasingly grown.

On the occasion of the Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20, the Minister sent his best wishes to teachers and scientists , wishing them health, happiness and success.

Immediately afterwards, Minister Tran Duc Thang visited the high-tech science research area of the Agricultural Academy.

Professor Nguyen Thi Lan said that the Academy established many new departments and opened many new majors to meet social needs.

Scientific and technological activities have achieved many outstanding results, many research groups have been established, many potential scientific and technological products have been commercialized; many new breeds of livestock and plants have been put into production.

Research on vaccines to prevent diseases in livestock has achieved many successes.

Minister Tran Duc Thang inspected the research products of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture. At the same time, he directed the Academy to make the most of its intellectual resources and physical resources to continue promoting fundamental and comprehensive innovation in training, research, and transfer of scientific and technological advances into life to meet the development goals of the country in the new era.

The Academy reported that international cooperation activities have also developed remarkably, with cooperative relationships with about 120 universities and research institutes from 25 countries around the world . Connection and cooperation activities with businesses and localities are taking place strongly...

Minister Tran Duc Thang suggested that the Academy continue to develop in the direction of autonomy, multi-disciplinary, multi-field, multi-branch, research-oriented, as a training center, providing high-quality human resources for the country's construction, development and increasingly deep international integration.

The conference was held in both in-person and online formats, with the participation of leaders of institutes and schools; units under the Ministry; and representatives of agencies and enterprises operating in the fields of science, technology and innovation across the country.

Speaking at the Conference, Minister Tran Duc Thang affirmed that developing science - technology and innovation is the political mission of the sector to implement Resolutions 57 and 71 in the new period. With 80 years of tradition, he believes that the Ministry's team of lecturers and scientists will continue to create new breakthroughs.

Minister Tran Duc Thang presented flowers and sent his congratulations and deep gratitude to teachers and scientists in the entire industry, who are directly contributing to the development of Vietnam's agriculture and environment.
