According to information from the US Embassy in Vietnam on November 14, the US will provide emergency aid of 500,000 USD (equivalent to 13 billion VND) after Vietnam suffered consecutive storms.
The United States Government recognizes the tremendous challenges facing the people of Vietnam following the widespread damage caused by Typhoons Fengshen and Kalmaegi and is committed to supporting Vietnam-led relief efforts. In response to the damage caused by the storms, the United States is providing emergency assistance to the hardest-hit families and communities, helping them meet basic needs such as shelter and clean water.

The United States’ relationship with Vietnam is built on shared priorities, including ensuring a free, open, and stable Indo- Pacific region. The strong people-to-people ties between our two countries, reinforced by the vibrant Vietnamese-American community, are at the heart of our relationship.
The United States is providing $500,000 in emergency assistance to families and individuals and to enhance the Government of Vietnam’s ongoing relief efforts following these storms. This assistance builds on the $500,000 the United States provided in October to support the Government of Vietnam’s relief efforts following previous storms.
According to the consulate, the emergency aid demonstrates the deep bond between the two peoples and the commitment to the US-Vietnam diplomatic relationship, helping to share hardships, respond effectively in times of crisis, and build a more resilient future together.
