Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son receives CEO of Warburg Pincus Group

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of November 12, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son received CEO of Warburg Pincus Group Fan Li, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

At the reception, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the companionship and sustainable investment of Warburg Pincus Group in Vietnam over the past 12 years, with a total committed investment value of over 2 billion USD; emphasizing that typical projects such as Vincom Retail, BW Industrial, Techcombank , MoMo and most recently The Grand Ho Tram and Xuyen A Hospital have clearly demonstrated Warburg Pincus' long-term commitment to contributing to the development of infrastructure, finance, trade and healthcare in Vietnam.

The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed Warburg Pincus' proposal to invest in building a highway connecting Long Thanh International Airport with Ho Tram, and asked the Group to soon implement the project to attract more international visitors to Ho Tram.

The Deputy Prime Minister also asked the Warburg Pincus Group to support Vietnam in developing its capital market; support Vietnamese enterprises to participate in the Group's supply chain; and urge the US Government to recognize Vietnam as a market economy and remove restrictions on high-tech exports to Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Government is always ready to dialogue, listen to opinions, and resolve proposals and recommendations from businesses in the spirit of "harmonious benefits and shared risks," the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed.

Warburg Pincus Group CEO Fan Li expressed his impression of Vietnam's recent positive reforms, especially the speed of merging provinces and cities; and congratulated Vietnam on maintaining a high GDP growth rate in the context of many changes in tax policies of other countries.

Mr. Fan Li affirmed that Warburg Pincus Group will continue to play the role of "ambassador" connecting investment and trade between Vietnam and the United States; supporting the strong development of Vietnam-US relations.
